Completed projects

Three important projects have already been delivered in preparation for the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project.

A new Temporary Staff Carpark, located on the corner of Mewett Street and the Emergency Access Road (all weather access road), was completed in May 2020.

From late September 2020, the existing staff carpark at the rear of the hospital, bordering Caboolture State High School, will become a temporary public carpark so there is enough parking for patients and visitors during construction. New, easy to follow signs will direct people to the hospital safely.

All parking on the hospital grounds will be free until the new Multi-Storey Carpark opens in 2023.

A new eight bed Mental Health Short Stay Unit was completed in April 2020.

The Mental Health Short Stay Unit provides 24 hour / seven days a week care to people with acute mental health concerns. The service offers short-term treatment, observation, assessment and re-assessment of patients triaged and assessed in the Emergency Department.

This important service will improve the lives of people affected by mental illness.

Stage 1: Specialist Outpatient Department
Stage 2: Medical Imaging Department
Stage 3: Expansion of the existing Emergency Department

The expanded Emergency Department includes:

  • 3 triage assessment rooms
  • A dedicated and secure Children’s assessment area, including triage and 4 beds
  • 6 Fast Track beds
  • 8 Short Stay beds and 4 Short Stay chairs
  • A dedicated mental health assessment area
