COVID-19 update

The Project Team is adhering to the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 restrictions and essential works continue onsite. Wearing face masks, practicing hand hygiene, social distancing and cleaning protocols are just some of the measures being followed by the project team to reduce the impact of COVID-19.

‘Lifty-Shifty’ has arrived!
In case you missed it, Lifty-Shifty, our first tower crane standing approximately 47 metres tall, has arrived. Lifty-Shifty will be used to help build the new five-storey Clinical Services Building. So next time you are near the hospital, make sure you look up and grab a glimpse of this impressive piece of machinery!

Construction activities for the new Clinical Services Building

Civil works and inground services for the new Clinical Services Building, located on the McKean Street side of the hospital site, are now underway.
Retention works will be carried out over the coming weeks on the South East side of the site, near the Emergency Entry footpath. These works may cause some noise and vibration impacts.

Piling activities are due for completion in mid-April, at which time the piling rig will be demobilised from the Clinical Services Building site.
Pile cap construction has commenced along with the first vertical pours of the core structures (1 x lift core and 4 x stair cores).
Deliveries of large pre-cast beams and infill planks will commence over the next few weeks. These beams will create the structure of the ground floor of the building.

Our second tower crane is due to arrive in mid-April (weather permitting). ‘Bob’, named by Caboolture Special School student Emilia, will work alongside ‘Lifty Shifty’ on the new Clinical Services Building.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Minor traffic delays during delivery of pre-cast beams and tower crane erection.

Update on the new Multi-Storey Carpark

Excavation and bulk filling activities continue on the site of the new Multi-Storey Carpark, located on the North East side of the hospital. The site is being prepared for piling activities which are due to commence in mid to late April (weather permitting).

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity and vehicle movements in this area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Update on the McKean Street signalised intersection

The new signalised intersection on McKean Street, located at the new Emergency Entry road into Caboolture Hospital, will become operational in mid-April. Adjustments to signal programming may be needed during the initial operational period. If required, these works will take place over the coming months, until early May.
Thank you for your understanding and patience while construction of the new intersection has been underway.

Update on the temporary carpark for construction workers

The new temporary carpark for construction workers working on the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project will be operational from mid-April (weather permitting). The carpark is located on Pettigrew Street behind St Columban’s College sporting fields and will remain operational for the duration of the project.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts during the final stages of construction. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Following completion, increased vehicle activity may be experienced during early morning and late afternoon coinciding with start and finish times of site works.

Update on the new bus stop on McKean Street (ID 310304)

The permanent bus stop located on the southern side of McKean Street has been installed and will become operational in mid to late April. Once the permanent bus stop is fully operational, the temporary bus stop will be removed.

What to expect:

  • Footpath closure during the removal of temporary bus stop with alternate pedestrian diversion in place.
  • Partial lane closures under traffic control for line marking activities.
  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Neighbours may experience some minor traffic delays, noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
