Upcoming footpath closure, corner of McKean Street and Mewett Street

From Tuesday 27 April until late-2022, the footpath on the corner of McKean Street and Mewett Street will be closed for the construction of the new multi-storey carpark.
Pedestrian access to the Hospital, Central Lakes Shopping Centre and nearby residential areas will be maintained through pedestrian detours. Please see attached notification for detour details.

What to expect:

  • Footpath closure until late-2022.
  • Alternative pedestrian access maintained.
  • Pedestrian diversion signage in place.

Construction activities for the new Clinical Services Building

Civil works and inground services for the new Clinical Services Building are continuing.
Retention works will be carried out over the coming weeks on the south-east side of the site, near the walkway leading into the Emergency Entrance. These works may cause some noise and vibration impacts.

Piling activities are due for completion by the end of April, when the piling rig will be demobilised from the Clinical Services Building site.
We will be conducting pile integrity testing on Thursday, 22 April from 6am to 1pm. This activity is likely to generate some noise and vibration impacts.
Pile cap construction has commenced along with the first vertical pours of the core structures, which will form the lifts and stairs of the new Clinical Services Building.

Our second tower crane ‘Bob’, named by Emilia from Caboolture Special School, will be erected on site on Saturday 24 April. ‘Bob’ will work alongside ‘Lifty Shifty’ to assist in materials handling during the structure and fit-out phase of works.
Deliveries of large pre-cast beams and infill planks are scheduled to commence from Tuesday 27 April to create the structure of the ground floor of the building.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
  • Minor traffic delays during delivery of pre-cast beams.
  • Minor traffic delays on tower crane erection date.

Multi-Storey Carpark construction

Excavation and bulk filling activities continue for the new multi-storey carpark, located on the north-east side of the hospital. The site is being prepared for piling activities which will commence once piling is completed on the Clinical Services Building site.
What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity and vehicle movements in this area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Update on the temporary carpark for construction workers

The new temporary carpark for construction workers working on the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project is now operational. Thank you for your patience while this key project infrastructure was constructed.

What to expect:

  • Following completion, increased vehicle activity may be experienced during early morning and late afternoon coinciding with start and finish times of site works.

Update on McKean Street intersection

The signals for the new intersection will become operational from Tuesday 20 April.
The permanent bus stop located on the southern side of McKean Street has been installed and is currently being transitioned into the transport network. Once the permanent bus stop is fully operational, the temporary bus stop will be removed, aiming for the end of May.

What to expect:

  • Footpath closure during the removal of temporary bus stop with alternate pedestrian diversion in place.
  • Partial lane closures under traffic control for line marking activities.
  • Increased construction activity in the area.
  • Neighbours may experience some minor traffic delays, noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
