No exercise will be needed. Small arm and leg movements may be required. A small needle will be placed in the back of your hand or arm. Dobutamine will be slowly infused to increase your heart rate and the strength of your heart\u2019s contractions. ECG, blood pressure and ultrasound images will be taken at regular intervals to record how your heart responds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>During the test, it may be decided that a contrast agent is required. Contrast agents are used to improve image quality. If contrast is required, it will be injected through your intravenous line. More information can be given at the time of the test.<strong> If you have had a difficult cannulation previously, please contact us prior to your test on 5433 8060.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If your symptoms or condition get worse, see your GP or go to your local emergency department.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If requested by your doctor, an outpatient appointment will be made, and you will receive an SMS or letter with your appointment date and time.<\/p>\n"}]},{"other_content":[{"heading":"How to prepare","content":"<p>Please wear comfortable clothing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please refrain from drinking caffeine,<\/strong> <em>i.e. tea, coffee, energy drinks<\/em>, 2 hours before your test.
