If you do not live within the catchment area, you will be referred to another hospital or offered to be seen in the maternity ward.<\/p>\n<p>We can help with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>routine postnatal checks for mother and baby<\/li>\n<li>support and assistance with breastfeeding<\/li>\n<li>baby care education \u2013 such as feeding management, settling techniques and safety issues<\/li>\n<li>referrals to relevant community groups as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Women are encouraged to take their baby to their GP for a check-up 5-7 days post-birth and again at 6 weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>Early feeding and support drop-in clinics<\/h2>\n<p>Early feeding and support drop-in clinics are offered free of charge. Child Health Nurses provide help, support and advice with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>infant feeding and sleep<\/li>\n<li>breastfeeding support, assistance and helpful advice<\/li>\n<li>referral to other support services for specific needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To find your nearest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrens.health.qld.gov.au\/chq\/our-services\/find-service\/\">Child Health Community<\/a> drop-in clinic or call 1300 366 039.
