If you need to visit or stay during these hours, or if a patient needs or wants extra rest time, please speak with the Nurse Unit Manager who will help find a solution that is in the best interest of each patient.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There may be times when visitors are asked to leave the ward so that treatment can be provided, and we appreciate everyone\u2019s cooperation and understanding. As a visitor, we ask you to always remember to keep noise to a minimum and wear a mask while you are at the hospital. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n<p>To contact a ward reception, call Caboolture Hospital on\u00a05433\u00a08888 and ask to be transferred to the ward.<\/p>\n<h3>Babies, Children and Maternity<\/h3>\n<p>Parents can stay with their children in the Children\u2019s Ward and Special Care Nursery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.<\/p>\n<p>Maternity Ward has extended visiting times for care partners. Please speak with the Maternity Ward or your midwife for more information.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" id=\"cab-visiting-2\"><h3>Campus map<\/h3>\n<p>View the <a href=\"https:\/\/metronorth.health.qld.gov.au\/caboolture\/maps-and-directions\">Caboolture Hospital campus map<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metronorth.health.qld.gov.au\/caboolture\/maps-and-directions\/ward-locations\">view ward locations online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note: Outpatients is not located in the main building but on the Mewett St side of the campus. Follow the road to the right of the main entrance or see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metronorth.health.qld.gov.au\/caboolture\/maps-and-directions\">campus map<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><h2>Toilets<\/h2>\n<p>Toilets, disabled toilets and baby change rooms are available in the hospital. Please ask staff or volunteers for the facility closest to you.<\/p>\n<h2>Bringing food for patients<\/h2>\n<p>We understand some patients prefer their own food. Please note we do not take responsibility for food that is brought in by visitors for patients. We ask visitors who wish to bring food for patients to choose low risk food and check with staff before giving it to their patient. Due to their health condition, some patients may become very unwell if they eat the wrong food at the wrong time.<\/p>\n<h2>Your appointment (outpatients)<\/h2>\n<p>Your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metronorth.health.qld.gov.au\/caboolture\/patients-and-visitors\/your-appointment\">outpatient appointment<\/a>\u00a0is to see a specialist or clinician about your condition without being admitted into hospital.\u00a0You may have an outpatient appointment before and\/or after your admission to hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><h2>Expectations on entry<\/h2>\n<div id=\"expectations-on-entry\">\n<p>We&#8217;re committed to delivering excellent patient-centred care and high-quality health services and ask that you treat our staff with respect.<\/p>\n<p>To provide a safe and comfortable environment where patients, visitors and staff are treated with respect and dignity, the following behaviours are not acceptable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aggressive behaviour, harassment and intimidation<\/li>\n<li>Rude or threatening language or name calling<\/li>\n<li>Physical attacks to people or property<\/li>\n<li>Obscene, racist, sexist or demeaning language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Refusal to comply with these behaviour expectations may result in removal or discharge from the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Our staff are required to report all incidents. Security officers are available 24\/7 and can be called in any situation where people feel threatened or unsafe and, in some situations, police will be called. For patient safety reasons, we cannot allow flowers or potted plants in the Intensive Care Unit or near patients with respiratory issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Hand hygiene<\/h2>\n<p>Clean hands help prevent infection.\u00a0To reduce the risk and spread of infections, we ask you, your visitors and staff to keep their hands clean. It is okay to use the hand gel or the basins to clean hands. Please ask your family and friends not to visit if they are sick. Find out how you can protect yourself and your loved ones by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/all\/prevention\/hand-hygiene\/index.html\">hand washing for hygiene<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Smoke free hospital<\/h2>\n<p>Smoking is not permitted on the hospital grounds. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/staying-healthy\/atods\/smoking\/laws\/index.html\">Queensland Tobacco Laws<\/a>\u00a0ban smoking at hospitals and on campus grounds within 5 metres of its boundary. If you are a patient who smokes and want to give up, we can help you with free Nicotine Replacement Therapy or alternatives. Please ask your clinical staff for advice on treatment or phone the anonymous and confidential\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.quitnow.gov.au\/\">QUITLINE<\/a>\u00a0service on\u00a0<strong>131 848<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0We strongly advise that you do not leave the ward area to smoke. Leaving the ward is at your own risk and against the advice of your medical team. Hospital equipment must not be taken off hospital grounds.\u00a0If you have an intravenous drip, under no circumstances are you to leave the building for the purpose of smoking.
