COVID-19 (coronavirus) Fever Clinics and Community Assessment Clinics

Testing criteria updated 6 August 2020 under Public Health Alert no. 17.

Metro North Hospital and Health Service is conducting COVID-19 (coronavirus) screening at Fever Clinics and Community Assessment Clinics at a range of locations.

These clinics are for people who have:

  • Fever (of 37.5 degrees or above) or history of fever (e.g. night sweats, chills)
  • Acute respiratory infection (e.g. cough, shortness of breath, sore throat)
  • A loss of smell or loss of taste

You will need to self-isolate if a test is taken.

Other reported symptoms of COVID-19 include: fatigue, runny nose, muscle pain, joint pain, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting and loss of appetite.

Information for children requiring testing

Children presenting to any of our fever clinics can have a swab taken for COVID-19 testing.

If your child is sick and needs healthcare or requires treatment, please take them to The Prince Charles Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital, Caboolture Hospital or Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Please bring your Medicare Card when you present to any fever or community assessment clinic
