Building digitally-integrated networked biobank infrastructure in Queensland

Biobanking is fundamental to research that aims to understand, prevent, diagnose and treat disease.  Design and development of systems for a digitally-integrated networked biobank serves to enhance visibility and access by investigators to quality biospecimens linked to health data.  This forms essential state-wide research infrastructure for CoViD-19 and other conditions contributing to the Queensland research translation ecosystem.

Professor Janet Davies BSc, PhD, GAICD

Assistant Director of Research, Metro North Hospital and Health Service

Professor Davies leads the QUT Allergy Research Group and is the Assistant Director of Research at Metro North Hospital and Health Service. Her research underpins development of more specific immunodiagnosis for subtropical grass pollen allergy. She leads the NHMRC AusPollen Partnership and has contributed to multiple national and global position papers regarding allergy diagnosis and management. In her role with Metro North she contributes to the clinical research strategy, policy and implementation including partnership and engagement in relation to biobanking in QLD.
