19 December 2021
Dear colleagues,
Today there are 34 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases, 7 interstate acquired cases and 1 overseas acquired case. With this steady increase in cases comes a significant increase in exposure venues. It is incredibly important that we all get into the habit of regularly checking the contact tracing website. Due to the significant number of exposure venues, you may only be contacted if you are a close contact. Please ensure you regularly check the list of venues to see if you are a casual or low risk contact and follow the necessary testing requirements.
Move to Tier 2 (minus)
Metro North Health is now operating under Tier 2 (minus) of our COVID-19 response plan. At this time, we are not cancelling any planned care delivery, but we are delivering services virtually where sensible and safe to do so. Fully vaccinated students, volunteers and consumers can also remain on site when attending to essential/important activities.
It’s important everyone is familiar with the Tier 2 requirements, which are being implemented across the health service, noting that the current documentation is currently being updated to reflect the broader high-level/overarching protections and restrictions now in place.
Keep calm
We will see lots of change over the next week or two particularly with increasing numbers of patients and staff being managed as close contacts. Remember to look after yourself, wear your mask, and check the contact tracing website regularly. We will continue to work together through all of these challenges and changes as they come about.
Thank you all for being flexible and patient-centric.
Regards,
Dr Liz Rushbrook
Metro North Health Incident Controller
