She also organised and moderated the Rehabilitation Symposium which involved multiple international speakers from USA, Chile and Costa Rico who work in the adult and paediatric burns space.<\/p>\n<p>Andrea said attending and presenting at the conference was a great opportunity to disseminate research findings from both her PhD and Metro North studies to an international audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cMy role as Chair of the ISBI Rehabilitation Committee also played an integral part of my role at the conference,\u201d Andrea said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cI was privileged to be awarded the Andre Zagame Rehabilitation Prize for my abstract, as judged by the ISBI Scientific Committee and ranked in terms of scientific merit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Working as an Occupational Therapist has been an incredibly rewarding career path for Andrea, who has been working in Burns Occupational Therapy for more than 16 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cAs an occupational therapist, I look at how people return to everyday activities they want to,\u00a0need to, or are expected to do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cI love that every person is different, and no two goals are the same, so each treatment intervention is personalised to the individual receiving care.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-bottom:50px;width:100%;\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a world-class tertiary hospital, RBWH\u2019s expertise and research frequently helps shape health systems across the globe. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":53,"featured_media":11784,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_searchwp_excluded":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[176],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-11722","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-at-the-royal"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.2 -
