\"ArtworkHave you seen the next piece of artwork has been installed on the Clinical Services building.<\/h4>\n

This artwork combines the sun and \u201cCabul\u201d or \u201cKabultur\u201d (carpet snake or place of the carpet snake) symbols.<\/p>\n

The sun image represents the sun and all that it means to First Nations people and is on the North-East corner of the building, facing the rising sun.<\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t it beautiful?<\/p>\n

Clinical Services building tour<\/h3>\n

Queensland Health Director-General Shaun Drummond, Chief Operating Officer David Rosengren and Executive Director of the Office of the Director General Matt Rigby toured CHRP earlier this week with Project Director Fiona Brewin-Brown and me.<\/p>\n

Directors Sean Keogh and Paul Kemp joined the tour through the new Emergency Department and talked about the new model of care.<\/p>\n

\"ClinicalThe tour also included the level two theatres, perioperative unit and Intensive Care Unit.<\/p>\n

It was a great opportunity to showcase the great benefits the new clinical services building will deliver to improve the health of our community.<\/p>\n

In addition to this, the Department of Health executives also visited Ward 3B to hear about the great work the team having been doing in preventing falls and responding to them if they happen.<\/p>\n

Although I haven\u2019t seen it yet, we were told that they may even be mentioned in DGTV today, so keep a look out\u2026\u2026great work team!<\/p>\n

CHRP Intent to Apply Only \u2013 Nursing Workforce Survey<\/h3>\n

\"QRThe CHRP Intent to Apply Only \u2013 Nursing Workforce survey is now open.\u00a0 This online survey is an opportunity for CKW nnurses to let CHRP know whether they have any intention of applying to work in any of the new or transferring services (that are different to where they work now).<\/p>\n

The valuable feedback received through the survey will be used to further guide Nursing Workforce planning and preparation for CSB opening. The survey is available to nursing staff to complete until 16 March 2023.<\/p>\n

Have you heard the Mars bar story?<\/h3>\n

\"UncleIt\u2019s another wonderful example of how we provide quality compassionate care to the community.<\/p>\n

It started when Uncle Alan Parsons came to the Caboolture Hospital Emergency Department to treat an injury to his shoulder.<\/p>\n

ED Physiotherapist Richard was on duty.<\/p>\n

Alan was distressed but Richard was quickly able to ease his anxiety by betting Alan a Mars Bar that he had a fractured scapula.<\/p>\n

The x-ray from I-Med indeed showed a fractured shoulder blade \u2013 just as Richard had suggested.<\/p>\n

A few weeks later, after being discharged, Uncle Alan was soon back on-site to give the promised Mars Bar to Richard.<\/p>\n

It was a token of appreciation for the way that Richard was able to calm an initially stressful situation for Uncle Alan. As you can see, he accepted the gift-wrapped Mars Bar with great delight!<\/p>\n

\u201cI have nothing but the highest regard, deep appreciation for the support, assistance that I was able to have from people like Richard and all the staff at Caboolture and Kilcoy who enabled my recovery to be a successful outcome.\u201d Thanks, Uncle Alan.<\/p>\n

World Delirium Day in-service<\/h3>\n

World Delirium Awareness Day\u00a0is on Wednesday (15\u00a0March)\u00a0and this year’s theme is\u00a0“Delirium is Everybody’s Business\u201d.<\/p>\n

Our Eat Walk Engage team has organised guest speak Narelle Green who will discuss delirium from a carer\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n

Narelle will speak on Tuesday 14 March from 2.30pm. You\u2019re invited to join the presentation on Teams<\/a>. A recording will be available soon if you can\u2019t make it on the day.<\/p>\n

A brochure has been developed to help educate patients and their family and carers about delirium.<\/a><\/p>\n

Congratulations to our Staff Shout Out recipients for February. Each recipient has already received an official congratulatory email, but I wanted to celebrate their success with all of you as well!<\/p>\n
