Redcliffe Hospital<\/p><\/div>\n

The Redcliffe Hospital Expansion was announced in the State Budget last year, and I know how eager everyone is to know more about how it will work and what it will look like.<\/h4>\n

Next Monday, all hospital staff are invited to an exclusive staff briefing session on the Expansion.<\/p>\n

Queensland Health’s Health Capital Division\u00a0will provide updated information about which clinical services will be included in the Expansion, what the Expansion will mean for new and existing buildings, and how things will change for staff, patients, and visitors in the months and years ahead.<\/p>\n

The session will be in the Education Centre from 10:30am next Monday. There should be an appointment in your Outlook calendar with all the details.\u00a0 If you can, please come along.<\/p>\n

Values Based Recruitment Coaches<\/h3>\n

This week we celebrated the appointment of Redcliffe Hospital’s new Values Based Recruitment Coaches<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Values Based Recruitment Coaches help managers and team leaders to recruit the best candidates to fit our Metro North values and Redcliffe Hospital Agreed Behaviours.<\/p>\n

Our new Values Based Recruitment Coaches are part of a network of staff who have volunteered for the role across Metro North.<\/p>\n

#IamRedcliffe<\/em> Team of the Month<\/h3>\n

Congratulations to our Facility Service team on being our #IamRedcliffe<\/em><\/strong> Team of the Month for February.<\/p>\n

Facility Services were recognised for being the quiet achievers who support and enable so many other teams across the hospital.\u00a0Well done to the four other nominees, Fran Dwyer, our IHLO team and Cultural Capability Officer, Regina Wozencroft, and Jeanie Cooper.<\/p>\n

Nominations for the #IamRedcliffe<\/em><\/strong> Team of the Month for March are now open.<\/p>\n

Director Medical Services<\/h3>\n

Our Director Medical Services, Dr Kellie Wren, has accepted a new position as Executive Director Medical Services and Clinical Governance with Gold Coast Health.<\/p>\n

Dr Wren will leave us after Easter, and we’ll announce an Acting DMS shortly.<\/p>\n

We’re grateful to Dr Wren for her time with us and\u00a0wish her every success in this more senior role back on the Gold Coast.\u00a0 We say thank you to show our appreciation. #IamRedcliffe.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

People & Culture Forum<\/h3>\n

At our next People and Culture Forum, Amanda Brimson and the team will be talking more about Manager Micro Skills<\/a>.\u00a0Micro Skills are a series of three-minute information guides on how things work at Metro North and practical advice on how leaders and managers can model our values and behaviours.<\/p>\n

That session will be on Monday, 20 March, from 1pm on Teams.\u00a0 Receive an Outlook invitation.<\/a>\u00a0For those who missed the last People & Culture session, a recording is available on QHEPS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Have Your Say <\/em>staff survey<\/h3>\n

\"HaveMetro North held our second Have Your Say <\/em>staff survey in 2021, and, thanks to your feedback, some great things have happened.<\/p>\n

Around 45% of hospital staff participated in that survey. We listened to what staff had to say, and since then, have made some changes, including:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • $165,000 worth of upgrades to staff break rooms and facilities<\/li>\n
  • a new common room for junior doctors<\/li>\n
  • a leadership training program\u00a0for operational and administrative staff, and<\/li>\n
  • psychological well-being and safety sessions for staff and managers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We listen to understand, so we make the best decisions. #IamRedcliffe.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Great patient care<\/h3>\n

    A few weeks ago, we received a letter from the Health Minister about a patient’s care in our Emergency Department.\u00a0The patient’s family wrote to the Minister, wanting to share the patient’s experience as a respected Aboriginal elder in our local community.<\/p>\n

    The letter talked about how busy things were that day, but how the patient was treated with dignity and respect, and how\u00a0the staff of the Redcliffe Hospital exceeded her expectations.<\/p>\n

    In the Minister’s letter to us, she asked that we make sure everyone working at Redcliffe Hospital knows that quality service does not go unnoticed<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    The standard of care we provide is always noticed and always matters.\u00a0We do the right thing, even when no one is watching. #IamRedcliffe.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
