Maureen Lessman, Shane Jeynes and Freda Papoutsakis<\/p><\/div>\n

It was a bittersweet farewell earlier this month as we said goodbye to some of Administration Services most loved and experienced staff members. Maureen Lessmann and Freda Papoutsakis both headed off on retirement while Shane Jeynes moved on to a new role. The three of them have devoted a total of 52 years of service to RBWH between them.<\/h4>\n

Maureen, Freda and Shane all reflected on their favourite parts of working at RBWH:<\/p>\n

CSDS Principal Project Officer Maureen Lessman<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy favourite part of working at RBWH has been people I have met, the friendships I\u2019ve made and the experiences offered to me by senior staff who were not only managers but excellent leaders. I\u2019ve had many opportunities during my time here, including commencing my employment just as the new payroll system was introduced, and stepping up during COVID-19 to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.\u201d<\/p>\n

RBWH Senior Administration Officer Freda Papoutsakis<\/h3>\n

\u201cI started at RBWH as a student nurse in 1982 but decided not to peruse nursing and instead moved in an administration role. I was the first ward receptionist in the Coronary Care Unit and have since spent many years in Internal Medicine. I have absolutely loved working at the RBWH. It is true when people say it\u2019s the people who make a place. I will miss everyone very much but am ready for this next phase.<\/p>\n

RBWH Women\u2019s and Newborn Services Administration Manager Shane Jeynes<\/h3>\n

\u201cWorking in\u00a0Women\u2019s & Newborn Services\u00a0has been more than a job. My connection to Women\u2019s runs back to being born at the old Royal Women\u2019s Hospital! My mother and one of my daughters were born here and I always remember as a proud Dad, the wonderful staff and care we received as a first-time parents. I also have a distant relative who worked at the Brisbane General Hospital as a Matron over 100 years ago so my connection runs deep. Why wouldn\u2019t you want to work here! Luckily for me Women\u2019s and Newborn Services chose me. I am very proud to be part of the administration profession here at RBWH.\u201d<\/p>\n
