It\u2019s been another rewarding week in the hot seat and as always there are a few things I would like to share.<\/h4>\n

I hope you enjoyed the recently released Voice of Brighton this week, with our executive roadshow continuing next month at Sandgate Dental Clinic on Tuesday 18 April.<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone that continues to nominate their colleges for the monthly Shining Star award, the response in recent months has been exceptional, and I look forward to seeing all the Sandgate and directorate-wide nominees for April.<\/p>\n

Advanced clinical skills training<\/h3>\n

Like Glynis, I enjoy talking about the great work of our staff.<\/p>\n

Today, I want to focus on our nurse educators who have undertaken the Scope of Practice Project to identify gaps between current nursing skill set and\u00a0consumer needs across our bedded services.<\/p>\n

The aim of the project is to identify education and\u00a0training strategies to address these\u00a0gaps but also see our nurses gain advanced\u00a0and rapid clinical skills over the coming months so that they feel more confident when new models of care are introduced.<\/p>\n

The training rollout will include upcoming Clinical Skills Training Expos at a number of our bedded sites, as well as a Train-the-Trainer day which occurred this week.<\/p>\n

It is anticipated, that over the next two months there will be around 32 training sessions delivered targeting a large proportion of our Enrolled and Registered Nurses.<\/p>\n

Please keep an eye out for further information and updates about this advanced clinical skills training!<\/p>\n

\"BrightonSomething that shouldn\u2019t be missed \u2013 Our new Volley Trolley!<\/h3>\n

The Brighton Wellness hub has started another great new initiative called the \u2018Volley Trolly\u2019!<\/p>\n

The ‘Volley Trolley’ came about as a way to build social connection with clients in our bedded services. Our volunteers are now going around and offering patients some books or quizzes, while having a chat about Brighton Wellness Hub activities that they could attend.<\/p>\n

The initiative is now giving many clients the opportunity to visit the hub and attend our Community Catch Up and regular activities, while being supported by our amazing volunteers like \u201cMick\u201d\u2013 featured in photo.<\/p>\n

Thank you to the Hub, our social workers and our volunteers for making the \u2018Volley Trolley\u2019 another successful initiative that enhances social connection and interaction with our patients.<\/p>\n

I look forward to hearing about the expansion of the initiative to other services.<\/p>\n

Our Oral Health Clinics are at it again<\/h3>\n

While we are facing some logistical challenges in Oral Health at the moment, another great compliment was received by our Redcliffe Oral Health Clinic and the Oral Health Centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to compliment you on the Redcliffe Oral Health Clinic and the Oral Health Centre. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI have been attending both clinics for around five years now and cannot praise them enough for their courtesy, respect, workmanship, manners and kindness shown to me over that time.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIn particular, I want to thank Eve and Adam from Redcliffe Oral Health Clinic and Dr Carol Henderson from the Oral Health Centre, who in the course of treatment referred me to the Maxillofacial Unit at RBWH where Dr Hu treated me with the same respect and attention.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cPlease pass on my gratitude for the way they all deliver an amazing service.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
