Louise O’Riordan, A\/Executive Director, Redcliffe Hospital<\/p><\/div>\n

We’ve got some staff changes to talk about this week.<\/h4>\n

\"ElwynI’m pleased to announce that, following an EOI process,\u00a0Arlene Wagner will be the new Director of Ambulatory Care for the next six months.\u00a0 We thank Jared Grayling for his time in that position.<\/p>\n

We’re welcoming Mellissa Malley as our Acting Cultural Capability Officer for a while, with Elwyn taking some time away from the hospital. As much as we’ll miss Elwyn, the change is an exciting opportunity to have another perspective to help guide us on our health equity journey.<\/p>\n

A couple of weeks ago, we shared that our DMS, Dr Kellie Wren, will return to the Gold Coast. I hope to share some news about a temporary replacement soon while we progress with the permanent recruitment for that position.<\/p>\n

\"RaiseRaise it for Redcliffe update<\/h3>\n

Close to $6,000 was donated to\u00a0Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital<\/a> at the Dolphins’ home game at Kayo Stadium a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to all those who volunteered their time at the game.<\/p>\n

Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital<\/em> needs more volunteers for the next home game on Thursday, 25 May. If you’d like to get involved, talk to Sharyn.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"People<\/a>People and Culture Forums<\/h3>\n

Our monthly People and Culture Forums are for everyone – but especially important for our managers and supervisors.<\/p>\n

Amanda Brimson and the People and Culture team have arranged the April session to focus on staff wellbeing.\u00a0Receive an invitation to that session.<\/a><\/p>\n

Making your clinical work count<\/h3>\n

We heard more this week from our\u00a0Health Information Services team on making our clinical work count.
\nHIS Director, Michelle Cope, presented to our Managers Forum, with lots of interest from NUMs and clinical leaders about how they can better capture and record clinical activity.<\/p>\n

The HIS\u00a0team is also sharing a\u00a0tip of the week<\/em>,\u00a0highlighting how we can make our clinical work count.<\/p>\n

This week’s tip is:<\/p>\n

\u200bPrincipal Diagnosis<\/strong> \u2013 avoid documenting a symptom when there is a more specific or probable diagnosis.<\/p>\n

COVID precautions<\/h3>\n

Earlier this week, a memo went out reminding everyone of our COVID precautions.\u00a0The memo was in response to a rise in COVID infections in our medical wards and within the clinical workforce. This has happened before, and it’s all part of our business as usual.<\/p>\n

It is though important that all staff know about the precautions that we strongly recommend <\/strong>staff\u00a0take when they’re at work.\u00a0Those precautions include:<\/p>\n
