\"StaffMay is shaping up to be a big month, with a lot happening at Redcliffe and across Metro North.<\/h4>\n

Our staff flu vaccination campaign is going well, with nearly 40% of the hospital workforce vaccinated so far. Thanks to everyone who has rolled up their sleeves to protect themselves, their families, and our patients this winter.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, we launched\u00a0Move it May\u00a0<\/em>in DAFU and 4 East. Move it May <\/em>is a ward-based initiative encouraging inpatients to move 900 steps or more each day.<\/p>\n

International Day of the Midwife<\/h3>\n

Today we’re celebrating International Day of the Midwife. Our midwives are amazing people and part of a long and proud tradition at Redcliffe Hospital. We’re proud of all of our midwives, their professionalism, and the care they’ve provided to generations of local families.<\/p>\n

Our nursing and midwifery days celebrations continue next week, with Metro North’s Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer Alanna Geary with us on Monday. Make sure you say hello.<\/p>\n

Administrative Professionals Day<\/h3>\n

Today also is Administrative Professionals Day, and it’s the perfect opportunity to recognise the hundreds of AOs working across our hospital. Administrative professionals are at work in every part of our hospital, and are essential to the safe and quality care we provide every day. We say thankyou to show our appreciation.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"It\u2019sDomestic and Family Violence Prevention<\/h3>\n

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention<\/a> Month. The theme for 2023 is \u2018it\u2019s in our control to end coercive control\u2019<\/em>. At our Staff Forum this week, Vanessa Collins from Social Work talked more about how we’ll be supporting this important campaign.<\/p>\n

\"MetroGet ready to have your say<\/h3>\n

Also in May, we’ll be opening the third iteration of our Have Your Say staff survey. When the survey opens on the 19th, all Redcliffe Hospital staff will have the opportunity to share their feedback on what it’s like to work at Redcliffe and for Metro North Health.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"NationalThanking our volunteers<\/h3>\n

National Volunteer Week<\/a> starts on Monday, 15 May. This year, we’ll thank our volunteer community with a special morning tea in their honour on Thursday, 18 May, from 10am in the Staff Courtyard. If you can, please come along to say thanks to our volunteers.<\/p>\n

\"MakingMaking it count – tip of the week<\/h3>\n

Our Making it Count campaign is all about ensuring we’re keeping an accurate record of all the healthcare services we providing to patients.\u00a0Health Information Services’ tip of the week this week is:<\/p>\n

    Congratulations to Dr Tegan Lynam and the multidisciplinary resuscitation team, who were recognised as the winner for April for calm and collaborative leadership and for being a high-performing team.<\/p>\n

    Nominations for the May #IamRedcliffe <\/em><\/strong>Team on the Month close on Monday 15 May.<\/p>\n

    Lastly this week, a quick thank you to everyone who played their part in supporting April No Falls.<\/em>
    \nApril No Falls <\/em>is a national campaign that raises awareness of falls prevention.<\/p>\n

    During April No Falls<\/em>, the\u00a0Medicine Service Line ran a competition encouraging wards and services to arrange displays and educational materials about falls prevention. Congratulations again to 4 West on their winning display and for\u00a0bringing their A-game, and encouraging others to do the same.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>
