The\u00a0Have Your Say Staff Survey\u00a0opened last Friday. Thank you to the more than 375 Redcliffe staff who have already had their say.<\/h4>\n

If you haven’t already, take the survey now.<\/a> Even if you don’t have a lot of time right now, please log in and make a start. You can save your answers and come back later to finish.<\/p>\n

The responses everyone gave to our last survey have had a real and meaningful impact on how things work at Redcliffe and across Metro North.<\/p>\n

One of the best examples of how the survey has helped everyone was the $165,000 worth of new and upgraded staff break and change rooms in areas like Operating Theatres and Pharmacy. Those upgrades only happened because of what staff from those areas told us in the last survey.<\/p>\n

In some wards and services, a third of staff have already had their say and taken the survey. In other wards, only one or two staff have had a go. Don’t let this opportunity go by. Make sure you share your experience and provide your suggestions and feedback. If you’ve taken the survey, encourage other members of your team to have their say too.<\/p>\n

\"StaffRaise it for Redcliffe Hospital update<\/h3>\n

It’s been a big week for Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital.<\/p>\n

Working together with hospital staff, a very special day was arranged for staff member, Bob Birkett. Bob has been part of the Redcliffe Hospital team for many years and is currently undergoing cancer treatment.\u00a0Bob was guest of honour on Wednesday morning down at Kayo Stadium<\/a>, meeting everyone’s favourite NRL team and coach, Wayne Bennett.<\/p>\n

At the last night’s game against the Dragons, hospital staff formed the\u00a0guard of honour, with more volunteers raising around $6,000 in donations.<\/p>\n

Well done to everyone who supported Bob and Raise it for Redcliffe this week, in particular, Sharyn Tidswell and Nick Rukin.<\/p>\n

National Reconciliation Week<\/h3>\n

\"Be<\/a>National Reconciliation Week started today. We began the week with a Yarning Circle in the Healing Garden led by our acting Cultural Capability Officer Mellissa Malley.<\/p>\n

Next Tuesday at 9am, everyone is invited to join our Raising of the Flags at the flagpoles outside the Emergency Department. We’ll conclude Reconciliation Week with another Yarning Circle led by Mellissa next Friday for Mabo Day.<\/p>\n

Everyone is invited to join these events, and there should be appointments in your Outlook Calendars for them.<\/p>\n

This year’s\u00a0National Reconciliation Week<\/a> theme is “Be a Voice for Generations”, which is all about encouraging all of us to use our voices to support reconciliation. It’s a theme that fits in well with our work at Redcliffe and across Metro North Health with our Health Equity Strategy and the work of our Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.<\/p>\n

During Reconciliation Week, I encourage everyone to\u00a0learn more<\/a> about the significance of these days as we all work to be a voice for generations.<\/p>\n

\"MakingMaking it count – tip of the week<\/h3>\n

Our campaign to make all of our clinical work count continues this week, with another tip from Health Information Services.<\/p>\n

Did the patient have a debridement<\/strong>?\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Please specify in the procedure report if the debridement is of “skin and subcutaneous tissue” or “soft tissue”.<\/em><\/p>\n

Flu vaccination campaign<\/h3>\n

\"GiveMore than 1,300 Redcliffe Hospital staff have now rolled up their sleeves to be vaccinated against the flu this winter.<\/p>\n

Our staff flu vaccination campaign finished at lunchtime today after five weeks and 19 vaccination clinics across the hospital. Thanks again to our Pharmacy and Infection Prevention teams for coordinating this year’s campaign.<\/p>\n

If you missed your flu vaccination, it’s not too late. Vaccinations are available at your GP and community pharmacies. Talk to Infection Prevention for more information.<\/p>\n
