--smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 200\/300;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-14377\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tami Photinos, Executive Director<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>Here is the second Accreditation update to assist TPCH staff in preparing for short notice assessment which can occur at any time from July 1.<\/h4>\n<p>Today&#8217;s update will cover <strong>Standard 2<\/strong>\u00a0(Partnering with Consumers) and <strong>Standard 8<\/strong>\u00a0(Recognising and responding to acute deterioration).<\/p>\n<h3>Standard 2: Partnering with consumers<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Intention of the standard<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To create health service organisations where there are mutually beneficial outcomes by having:<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0consumers as partners in planning, design, delivery, measurement and evaluation of systems and services<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0patients as partners in their own care, to the extent that they choose.<\/li>\n<li>To recognise the importance of involving patients in their own care and providing clear communication to patients<\/li>\n<li>This standard, together with the Clinical Governance Standard, underpins all the other standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TPCH priorities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring there is documented evidence in the patient record of shared decision making<\/li>\n<li>Supporting our patients to provide feedback on their care<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring consumers receive the information they need in a way that is appropriate for them<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people receive <a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/qzk3g\/2944\/8gHWi22ISsyYxOvjao6JR6.XckeUxUzhii85a49n.html\">health care that meets their needs<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Actioning the Metro North Policy that supports flexible visiting for our patients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What can you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Utilise the patient bedside communication boards<\/li>\n<li>Ensure patients are aware of the many ways they can provide <a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/qzk3g\/7873\/8gHWi22ISsyYxOvjao6JYwNEVtLB1vHyUJWU39dP.html\">feedback on their care<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Provide patients with a copy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/qzk3g\/7874\/8gHWi22ISsyYxOvjao6JxWhB5aLYZtBM28VMBrQn.html\">Australian Health Care Charter of Rights<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Document discussions about treatments, procedures and consent<\/li>\n<li>Put in a work order to change your local signage to reflect flexible visiting hours<\/li>\n<li>Watch this video <a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/qzk3g\/7875\/8gHWi22ISsyYxOvjao6J8pLr2jaMkkaXrWjJuNll.html\">Preparing for SNAAP: Standard 2<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Standard 8: Recognising and responding to acute deterioration<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Intention of the standard<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To ensure that a person&#8217;s acute deterioration is recognised promptly and appropriate action is taken.
