RBWH Foundation Giving Day<\/h3>\n

It was such an exciting day on Wednesday as we celebrated the RBWH Foundation\u2019s annual Giving Day. In total, the Foundation raised a huge $562,701 thanks to generous donors such as yourselves and corporate matched donors who doubled every donation made by the community. This was my first RBWH Giving Day and I was impressed by the enthusiasm many teams and individuals displayed by coming up with their own initiatives to help raise funds. The money raised will directly benefit our patients and staff, particularly in the research space, and I am excited to see the impact of this year\u2019s efforts. I know many of you had the pleasure of meeting the celebrity ambassadors including world-champion boxer Jeff Horn, Brisbane Lions players Josh Dunkley and Darcy Fort and Brisbane Broncos players Corey Oates and Cory Paix. The sportsmen gave up their time to visit some of our wards and the response from patients was very positive, with many of them stating that the visit had made their day. It\u2019s evident that days like this are so important not only from a fundraising perspective but from a community and morale perspective. I am grateful to the RBWH Foundation for their support.<\/p>\n

Have Your Say survey<\/h3>\n

Today is your final chance to participate in the Have Your Say survey<\/a>. <\/em><\/strong>RBWH\u2019s response rate is 43%, however we still have time to get closer to our 60% target. I ask that you all view your individual team response rate<\/a> and commit to improving it by just 5% by midnight tonight.<\/strong> If you are a line manager, please allow time for your staff to complete the survey away from their core duties. It will only take 20 minutes. I have completed the survey myself and have found it to be a much faster process than in previous years. By hearing from as many staff as possible, we have the best chance of making valuable improvements to the workplace. Please don\u2019t miss your chance to have your say!<\/p>\n

Positive feedback<\/h3>\n

We recently received some positive feedback from a patient of the Birth Centre which I wanted to share with you all.<\/p>\n

During 2022 and 2023, I received prenatal care with the team at the Birth Centre. I was particularly impressed by the care given, the information available, and the approach to natural birth. My birth experience was second to none. I could not have asked for a better experience and am incredibly grateful to my three midwives for the support and care they delivered.<\/em><\/p>\n

Post-natal care at home was above and beyond what I expected and I was immensely grateful for those home visits. I also received lactation support at the hospital which helped establish a successful breastfeeding journey for my baby and I and we received extra support to overcome some challenges.<\/em><\/p>\n

The care model at the Birth Centre exceeded my high expectations and gave me the gift of a positive birth experience with my first baby. I believe it is an essential service that every woman in Australia should have access to. I couldn’t possibly speak higher of the Birth Centre.<\/em><\/p>\n
