--smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/451;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-14967\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cory Paix, Josh Dunkley, Darcy Fort, and Corey Oates<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<h4>Boxing champion Jeff \u2018The Hornet\u2019 Horn, RBWH burns patient and celebrity chef Matt Golinski, and Broncos NRL and Lions AFL legends have delighted patients and staff and helped raise funds, with guest appearances at this year\u2019s RBWH Foundation Giving Day, on Wednesday 14 June.<\/h4>\n<p>The 24-hour fundraising event raised an extraordinary $562,701 to advance patient care and clinician-led research at RBWH, STARS and other Herston Health Precinct institutes and centres.<\/p>\n<p>RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske has paid tribute to the passion and purpose of RBWH health workers and staff who participated in Giving Day activities including an early morning Seven Sunrise broadcast, fundraising activities, and ward decorating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is always so humbling to showcase the dedication of RBWH clinicians and researchers, tell the stories of grateful patients and of course to acknowledge our amazing donors who care so deeply about changing lives,\u201d said Ms Garske.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is also an exciting day with so much energy and enthusiasm for celebrating and fundraising, together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RBWH Foundation Giving Day is one of the major fundraising events on the Foundation calendar with donations directly supporting patient care and clinician-led research.
