2023 National NAIDOC Week Poster<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

For this week’s message I would like to focus on NAIDOC Week and the many celebrations that have been occurring across our facilities.<\/h4>\n

I want to thank everyone who has helped make these celebrations such a huge success.<\/p>\n

NAIDOC Week has been a great opportunity to continue to promote understanding through knowledge sharing and storytelling.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0year, we saw an amazing turn out of staff at each facility.<\/p>\n

As you would know, the theme\u00a0for NAIDOC this year was \u201cFor Our Elders\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Local Elders have and continue to play an important role within our Metro North Health Equity journey, especially through our COH Yarning Circle.<\/p>\n

I thank all of the Elders and community members who are giving up their valuable time to support us on this journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere there is knowledge there are our Elders. Our Elders paved the pathways for us, taught us our knowledge, our history, they passed down their art, stories and wisdom.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Our Elders are the foundation of our communities and role models for our children. With this poster I wanted to showcase how important our Elders are in passing down traditions and culture to our children and future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
