Torres Strait Islander dance troupe<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

I really enjoyed the Coming of the Light ceremony this week in the Caboolture Hospital Chapel.<\/h4>\n

The local Torres Strait Islander dance troupe sang a hymn in the Chapel, much to the delight of the audience of staff and visitors who attended, followed by some wonderful dancing and sharing what Coming of the Light signifies for them and their families.<\/p>\n

Meeting staff, visitors, invited guests and local Elders at the NAIDOC Week barbecue lunch in the Lecture Theatre was a great privilege. We honour Elders, as they have laid the foundations as trailblazers. Elders were able to have a lovely lunch and many staff were able to mingle and talk to the Elders and listen to their stories of their journeys through work and life.<\/p>\n

Further NAIDOC Week events were held today with morning tea at Kilcoy Hospital, followed by an afternoon tea at Woodford Corrections Health.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to the CKW RAP Working Group, Janita Adams and everyone who helped put these wonderful events together. Well done!<\/p>\n

\"DeadlyWelcoming our Deadly Start trainees<\/h3>\n

Did\u00a0you know that Caboolture Hospital is host to the largest cohort of Deadly Start Trainees across Metro North Health this year?<\/p>\n

We have Deadly Start trainees across Nursing, Administrative and Allied Health streams \u2013 and took this great shot of them together in the library this week!<\/p>\n

Metro North has welcomed a total of 139 Deadly Start Trainees this year. The program now rolled out across Queensland with trainees located in facilities stretching from the Gold Coast to Cairns!<\/p>\n

What a compliment!<\/h3>\n

Here\u2019s another great compliment recently for our maternity and obstetrics team:<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunication between multidisciplinary teams was amazing. My husband and I had the best experience with the birth of our final child.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the c section we were explained everything, after the birth we were given our child who was able to stay with us the entire time. My husband was involved in the entire process, staff took amazing photos and the nursing staff on the ward was fantastic.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly couldn\u2019t fault anything. Even the cleaners and food caterers were friendly and welcoming.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"RosieWelcome Rosie and Jayne<\/h3>\n

Welcome back to Rosie Trent (right) who will be the NUM on new Caboolture Hospital Ward 3C, which will provide Palliative Care and GEM services.<\/p>\n

Rosie was a Nurse Navigator at Caboolture Hospital for many years before heading to The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH).<\/p>\n

Joining Rosie is our new Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant Jayne Henderson who commenced us this week from a position in Metro South.<\/p>\n

\"RosieRosie and Jayne will be working closely with the CHRP Project team to get these new services ready for the opening of the clinical services building.<\/p>\n

You will also be able to find advertising for all the new positions for the Clinical Services Building over the next few months.<\/p>\n

They will be available on our new careers website page<\/a>\u00a0and the CHRP Commissioning Channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I will continue to keep you posted as new positions are advertised for the Clinical Services Building.<\/p>\n

Finally,<\/h3>\n

That\u2019s my first week as Acting Executive Director done!<\/p>\n
