Happy Friday. The mornings are chilly but aren\u2019t the days glorious. We are so blessed to live and work in such a beautiful part of the world.<\/h4>\n

I think we should all remember what a wonderful location we at CKW are working in. I live in Brisbane and drive here every day as I am sure many of you do or alternatively, I know many people live at the Sunshine Coast. Caboolture is nearly smack bang in the middle. What a wonderful attractant for people who want a great place to work and proximity to the beautiful beaches in Queensland and the big smoke of Brisbane.<\/p>\n

For those that live in and around CKW this is indeed a great part of the country. So my message here is that if you have colleagues working in other facilities, send them in the direction of CKW.\u00a0 We have a growing facility and they can join a great team!<\/p>\n

Just by way of some updates for CKW and some great news stories\u2026.<\/p>\n

Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project (CHRP) requires a network outage that will impact all clinical ICT systems and applications to include the Queensland Health network into the new Clinical Services Building (CSB).<\/p>\n

At 9pm on Wednesday night (26 July), a site-wide outage of up to 10 minutes is required for the migration of networks, with a total outage of one hour expected.<\/p>\n

This will affect all network access and functionality, including the guest wi-fi. All systems should reconnect automatically after the upgrade.<\/p>\n

Support teams from BTS, Digital Metro North, eHealth Queensland, CHRP and vendor DXC will be on-site during the outage window for testing pre and post the change.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re working on-site during this time, please revert to downtime procedures for the duration and check that systems are functioning normally after the change is complete.<\/p>\n

A new network architecture will be implemented across the entire campus as part of the expansion of Caboolture Hospital.<\/p>\n

Patient Boutique replenished<\/h3>\n

\"EatThe Caboolture Hospital patient boutique has been replenished, giving more patients who come to the hospital without their own clothes a more dignified experience.<\/p>\n

The boutique, an initiative of our Eat Walk and Engage program, offers patients a variety of clothing to wear during their hospital stay as an alternative to the standard hospital gown.<\/p>\n

Some patients who have an extended hospital stay might wear a hospital gown for a number of weeks if they don\u2019t have their own clothes, including long-stay patients who have no family support.<\/p>\n

Being in a hospital gown can sometimes stifle a patient\u2019s recovery, as they associate it with being sick. Once the patient gets into some normal day clothes, they feel a lot better and more like their normal selves, including 95-year-old Oswald wearing new short, shirt and beanie, pictured with Eat Walk Engage Coordinator Ellen Murphy.<\/p>\n

Patients are allowed to keep the clothes they receive from the boutique when they leave the hospital due to health and safety reasons.<\/p>\n

The patient boutique was replenished thanks to The Common Good, which raised funds for this initiative during Giving Day in 2022.<\/p>\n

Celebrating our Safer Baby Bundle success<\/h3>\n

\"SaferCaboolture Hospital has seen great success with the Safer Baby Bundle initiative.<\/p>\n

We held a celebration recently to acknowledge the tremendous achievements made by the maternity team.<\/p>\n

At the Stillbirth CRE Safer Baby Bundle Workshop recently, Caboolture Hospital won the Excalibur Award for best performing site for data collection, audits and surveys.<\/p>\n

The Caboolture team also won the highest award \u2018The Buzz Lightyear Award\u2019 for best overall achievements in implementing the Safer Baby Bundle and service improvement in the Antenatal space.<\/p>\n

Well done, everyone!<\/p>\n

\"CabooltureCaboolture Satellite Hospital update<\/h3>\n

It is exciting to reach final milestones with the Caboolture Satellite Hospital Community Open Day on Monday 31 July.<\/p>\n

The Open Day will honour the contributions of the many teams involved, whose responsible stewardship has helped to deliver Queensland Health\u2019s first satellite hospital.<\/p>\n

Importantly, this celebration will provide the opportunity to respectfully acknowledge our stakeholders and our community, whose voice and needs have helped to shape this important community service.<\/p>\n

As the commissioning process and scenario testing reach conclusion, it\u2019s great to see new members join the team.
\nThese include:
