Caboolture Satellite Hospital opening day<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

This morning I represented Metro North at the Parliamentary Estimates hearing for the Health and Environment Committee. I had the opportunity to acknowledge the commitment of Metro North staff to caring for Queenslanders every day. Thank you.<\/h4>\n

Caboolture Satellite Hospital<\/h3>\n

This week we achieved a huge milestone with the opening of Caboolture Satellite Hospital. I was very pleased to attend the community open day and official opening on Monday. Tours of the facility were very popular and it was great to see the community so interested in what it will offer.<\/p>\n

Yesterday the facility commenced operations and saw patients in the Minor Injury and Illness Clinic and outpatient services. Well done to everyone involved in getting to this point.<\/p>\n

It won\u2019t be long before we\u2019re celebrating the opening of Kallangur Satellite
\nHospital later this year.<\/p>\n

OUR PEOPLE<\/h3>\n

Have Your Say survey<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Have Your Say survey earlier this year. Overall, there was a slight increase in the number of respondents compared to 2021. In total, 10,760 staff took the opportunity to share your valuable feedback.<\/p>\n

A key theme from this year\u2019s survey is that what makes Metro North great is each other. The results show that staff feel having connection to their team, peers, and colleagues is very important. People with good connections are happier, less stressed, more engaged at work and even physically healthier. The more connected we are as colleagues, the more effectively we can work together to continue delivering excellent healthcare and also enjoy our time at work.<\/p>\n

Your feedback will be used to evaluate progress made since the last survey and guide initiatives throughout the organisation. To ensure that these survey results then translate into tangible actions, we will have a three-tiered approach including a Metro North action plan addressing organisational areas for improvement across the organisation, across our facilities and directorates, and at the team or unit level as well.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next? <\/em><\/p>\n

Throughout August, the Chief Executive and People and Culture will be working with facility and directorate leadership teams to go through the survey results in detail. Survey results will be cascaded to teams and work units in September.<\/p>\n

The People and Culture team will be working with teams throughout the organisation, celebrating what is working well and supporting teams to identify areas of improvement within each team. A suite of resources and templates will soon be available to assist teams to receive, evaluate, and understand their results.<\/p>\n

More than 50 teams across Metro North will also go into the draw for a team building activity after achieving 100% participation in this year\u2019s survey.<\/p>\n

Investing in our people<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the things that has come from previous Have Your Say surveys is an expansion of our development opportunities for staff. The Leadership Essentials for Managers Program is a great way for managers to gain new skills and a new network of colleagues to tap into for advice and support. We\u2019re taking expressions of interest for 2024 cohorts.<\/p>\n

Our commitment to investing in our people is reflected in MN32. We\u2019ve set a target of 500 staff to have completed the Executive Leaders Program by 2031 and to be recognised as an employer of choice.<\/p>\n
