Monday was National Day of Recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners. I would like to recognise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clinical staff at RBWH and the invaluable contribution they make to our capability through clinical and cultural knowledge, as well as through connection to land and community.<\/h4>\n

Have Your Say survey<\/h3>\n

I would like to thank you for telling us about your experiences in the Have Your Say survey. Every two years your responses provide us with rich information about improving our workplace. Tomorrow I will receive the executive overall results. Soon I will meet with Service Line Directors to discuss the results and information from this will be shared with you in your Service Lines. Thank you once more for your participation!<\/p>\n

Herston Symposium<\/h3>\n

RBWH not only provides excellent clinical care, but we also lead research that has lasting impacts on global health. The Herston Symposium<\/a> will be hosted at the Education Centre at RBWH and online. It will be a great opportunity to network with your Herston colleagues and hear keynote lectures on a range of issues \u2014 it\u2019s great to see such a diversity of topics.<\/p>\n

Staff Council and Shadow Staff Council<\/h3>\n

Expressions of Interest are open to join the RBWH\u2019s Staff Council and Shadow Staff Council. Both councils meet monthly and provide advocacy and advisory on behalf of staff. Their purpose is to increase staff engagement and create a forum where we can discuss issues impacting staff, including patient care, staff wellbeing and culture at RBWH. Odyssey<\/h3>\n

Speaking with the Odyssey team, they\u2019ve been out in different areas learning about different aspects of patient journeys. I would like to thank you all for your time and input in your conversations with Odyssey as we modernise and mature as a hospital. At the Royal, we provide world-class patient care, but we are also grappling with challenges that we will only overcome with a whole-of-hospital approach.
