REDDY Fun & Fitness ping pong team<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

We had some great fun this week, thanks to our REDDY Fun & Fitness team, with our second Redcliffe Hospital ping pong tournament.<\/h4>\n

Fifteen teams lined up to compete for the trophy, with many more coming out to show their support and enjoy the sausage sizzle. There were some very spirited performances, and it was great to see everyone bringing their A-game.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to the team from Physiotherapy, who took the trophy home this year. Thanks again to Rhonda, Brooke and Matt from the REDDY Fun team and the operational and facility services teams for arranging the BBQ lunch.<\/p>\n

Another success this week was the Pain Management Workshop organised by Dr Jeffrey Mott, Angela Schweikert and the Acute Pain Team. That day-long workshop upskilled nursing staff from several wards and units in managing patients with acute and persistent pain.<\/p>\n

Well done to everyone involved, including presenters from the Emergency Department, Pharmacy, and the Anaesthetic Department.<\/p>\n

\"Redcliffe<\/a>Redcliffe Research Symposium<\/h3>\n

More exciting news this week with the\u00a0release of the program<\/a> for this year’s Redcliffe Research Symposium.<\/p>\n

The Symposium’s keynote address will be delivered by Consumer Representative Jane Geltch, presenting on Consumers in research \u2013 nothing about us without us. <\/em>Thre program\u00a0also showcases research from a diverse range of clinicians, with medical officers, allied health, and nursing professions all well-represented.<\/p>\n

I encourage everyone to browse the program in advance to plan which sessions you’ll be attending in person or tuning in live on Teams.<\/p>\n

This is the seventh time that Dr Joel Dulhunty and his team have arranged this event, which is now a fixture in the hospital and Metro North event calendars.<\/p>\n

\"RedcliffeStaff Excellence Awards next Monday<\/h3>\n

Next Monday, we have one of Redcliffe Hospital’s biggest annual events, with the presentation of our Staff Excellence Awards.<\/p>\n

These awards celebrate all the different ways that our staff and volunteers bring their A-Game and contribute to safe and quality patient care. This year, we had more than sixty staff nominated, including for the new Health Equity Award.<\/p>\n

If you can, please join us on Teams from Noon on Monday. The appointment should be in your Outlook calendar.<\/p>\n

\"2023Research Excellence Awards – last chance to nominate<\/h3>\n

While talking about awards, this weekend is everyone’s last chance to put in nominations for Metro North’s Research Excellence Awards.
\nThese awards recognise and celebrate the many ways Metro North staff from all professions lead and contribute to clinical research.<\/p>\n

Eight different award categories are available, from those celebrating cutting-edge and world-first projects to recognising those who enable research excellence and researchers collaborating with our consumers.<\/p>\n

Please don’t miss this opportunity to make sure that our teams are recognised for their research excellence.<\/p>\n

New ESM go-live date<\/h3>\n

\"RedcliffeThe go-live date for Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) at Redcliffe Hospital has been extended by three weeks to Monday 25 September.<\/p>\n

These additional three weeks will allow the Metro North ieMR Program time to facilitate additional site pre-works, enable any outstanding staff training to be completed, and provide an opportunity for staff to keep learned knowledge fresh by completing\u00a0practice activities<\/a>\u00a0before go-live.<\/p>\n

\"2023Speech Pathology Week<\/h3>\n

Around one in seven Australians experience a communication difficulty at some stage in their lifetime. This week is Speech Pathology Week<\/a>, and this year’s theme is ‘communicating for life’, which highlights the important role that Speech Pathologists play in overcoming those challenges and supporting everyone’s quality of life.<\/p>\n

We’re proud of our nine friendly and caring speechies at Redcliffe Hospital – and the dedicated allied health assistants and administration officers who all work together to make up our Speech Pathology Department.<\/p>\n

\"MakingHealth Information Management Week<\/h3>\n

This week is also Health Information Management Week<\/a>. The theme this year is\u00a0advancing global health in pursuit of high-quality digital information.\u00a0This theme is particularly relevant as Redcliffe embarks on its journey to implement ESM and iEMR.<\/p>\n

This week, we celebrate all health information management professionals and their contribution to ensuring the accuracy, security and accessibility of patient health records and data.<\/p>\n

Our HIS team at Redcliffe have also been doing a great job this year with their Making it Count campaign. That campaign has improved the accuracy of patient records while also helping make sure we receive the right funding for all of our clinical services.<\/p>\n

Have Your Say Survey update<\/h3>\n

\"MetroLastly this week, an update for everyone on the Have Your Say survey.<\/p>\n

At our last SLT meeting, we received a high-level briefing on our results.\u00a0In the next couple of weeks, more detailed reports and data will be provided at the service line level, and from there, reports will be provided to your team leaders at the ward and unit level.\u00a0\u00a0Thank you again to everyone who participated in that survey and I hope everyone will be just as engaged in discussions around the survey results.<\/p>\n

Separate to the Have Your Say Survey, there is also the Working for Queensland<\/a> survey which is now open for all hospital staff.\u00a0Working for Queensland something that runs across the whole Queensland public sector, and I encourage everyone to participate by completing the survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n
