About Redcliffe Community Health Centre and Cooinda House<\/h2>\n

\"TheWe have a few great facilities located in Redcliffe, including the Redcliffe Community Health Centre and Cooinda House (and Redcliffe Dental Clinic).<\/h4>\n

This month, the executive team joined staff from Cooinda House and Redcliffe Community Health Centre to celebrate the success of our teams.<\/p>\n

The Redcliffe Community Health Centre offers a range of community health services for adults and children living in Redcliffe and the surrounding suburbs.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0main service being delivered at the community health centre is the\u00a0Community Based Rehabilitation Team (CBRT)<\/a>\u00a0which features an on-site gymnasium and visiting amputee clinic.<\/p>\n

Cooinda House has become a very vibrant, home-like environment which\u00a0provides residential aged care for the elderly who require a secure dementia environment and\/or specialised residential care.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u201cMarewa manages day-to-day operations for the facility, with a strong portfolio in chart management<\/p>\n

“She\u00a0coordinates records for other community health facilities ensuring clinicians have chart records available for client appointments.<\/p>\n

\u201cRedcliffe Community Health Centre is the hub for chart archiving. She has worked diligently for many years and is the go-to resource for archiving.<\/p>\n

“She is a silent achiever playing a very important role keeping our charts in order and maintaining our record keeping standards for COH.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

Andrea Hudson, Nurse Unit Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAndrea role models compassion in the way she interacts with both residents and staff with empathy and care. She is a hands-on professional who supports her team promoting respect and accountability.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs serious as providing person-centred care is, Andrea has been proactively delivering a monthly Fun Friday activity to promote a sense of belonging and teamwork among staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cAndrea has received valuable leadership tools and training which has helped her support staff by recognising their personal values and those required in our work setting.”<\/p>\n<\/div>

Spotlight: Cooinda unveils new blockbuster!<\/h1>\n

It was a star-studded blockbuster at the Cooinda House Cinema opening.<\/p><\/div>\n

Some real-life stars and memorable movie characters attended a red-carpet gala event to premiere the new blockbuster at Cooinda House.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cooinda residents and families were joined by Mary Poppins, Morticia Adams, Clark Kent, Snow White, Men in Black, Dorothy, Ghost Busters and a choir of nuns and monks from all the movies you can imagine, as part of the opening of the Cooinda House Cinema.<\/p>\n

Specialised Aged Care Nursing Director Belinda Sawtell said the amazing new cinema, which was suggested by residents, provides a unique new experience for residents and families where they can enjoy a private ‘V-Max class-like’ cinematic experience.<\/p>\n

“Our residents can watch their favourate movie or sporting event, or a current blockbuster privately away from the common areas,” she said.<\/p>\n

“The cinema idea was first created when residents suggested that they wish to have an area to watch movies away from other distractions.<\/p>\n

“We were successful in planning and transforming the space in six months with no obstacles, and the build only took a few short months.<\/p>\n

“Everyone who has been part of the project, has been just as excited as the residents and staff to create such a beautifully-designed area.”<\/p>\n

The cinema features comfortable reclining chairs and lounges, surround sound, cinematic curtains and sound proofing, star, mood and LED dropdown lightening, as well as a massive 86-inch LED television screen with cinema quality multimedia equipment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

“The residents have been looking forward to having the cinematic experience in the comfort of their own home,” Belinda said.<\/p>\n

“Families are also excited to have family movie days with their loved ones and arranging family functions where they can be together just like old times.<\/p>\n

“This space has the potential to create lasting lifelong memories among our residents and their loved ones.”<\/p>\n

The new cinema was officially opened by 90-year-old resident Brian McGarry who just wanted to watch a movie in a private area.<\/p>\n

He is looking forward to the cinematic experience, including the surround sound and mood lighting.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
