\"Caboolture<\/p>\n

I started working at Caboolture Hospital in 2019 when I 16 years old as part of the school-based trainee program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alongside my dream of making it into the National Rugby League Women\u2019s (NRLW) Premiership, I have always wanted to be in the healthcare industry.<\/p>\n

My mum is a registered nurse at North West Private and is a huge reason why
\nI have always wanted to be a nurse.<\/p>\n

\"Rhemy\"RhemyWhen I spoke to her about the traineeship opportunity, she was super supportive and encouraged me to do it.<\/p>\n

Starting here at 16 was very intimidating, but everyone has been so welcoming since the beginning.<\/p>\n

During my traineeship, I discovered I loved the Outpatient Department and ended up securing an administration position there after I graduated high school.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, I moved into a Support Officer role with Marcia Morris, Nursing and Midwifery Director for the CKW Women, Children and Families Service Line, and that has had a big influence on me.<\/p>\n

Over the past two years I put off applying for university as I didn\u2019t think it would be possible to work full-time, study full-time and train for my sporting career.<\/p>\n

After speaking to Marcia and seeing her passion and drive every day at work, she really inspired me to push my excuses aside and finally go back to uni.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m now about to finish the first term of my Bachelor of Nursing degree, which is one dream come true.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0decided to study through an online university, so it fits better around my busy work and training schedule.<\/p>\n

On the field, I have played touch football at Australian and State of Origin levels. I converted over to rugby league this year, playing for Kawana Dolphins and making Rep for the Sunshine Coast Falcons.<\/p>\n

I have been selected to play in the Brisbane competition next year for Sunshine Coast Falcons and I will have a shot at NRLW selections – fingers crossed!<\/p>\n
