\"Caboolture<\/p>\n

We\u2019re Kirsch and Kersha Jacobs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes! We have basically the same name – it\u2019s the reason we met.<\/p>\n

We had a mutual friend who mentioned that she knew someone with the same name. We were both intrigued and eager to meet as it is not a common name.<\/p>\n

\"Kirsch\"KirschWe were both living in New Zealand at the time, where each of our families had emigrated to from South Africa.<\/p>\n

We got married in 2015 and we now have two beautiful daughters who were born here at Caboolture Hospital.<\/p>\n

Kersha, Senior Social Worker<\/h3>\n

I began working at Caboolture Hospital in 2013 when a Social Work position became available.<\/p>\n

My mum is a nurse and I always knew that I wanted to work in healthcare. I enjoy working with patients and families to assist them to transition to their forever homes from hospital.<\/p>\n

My favourite part of working with my husband is not having to worry about driving myself to work every day. I appreciate the time that we spend together to and from work, which allows us to debrief before getting home to begin the afternoon routine with the girls.<\/p>\n

Although we both work in Allied Health, we don\u2019t often have lunch together due to our work commitments, but it is reassuring to know that Kirsch is around if I ever need to talk to him.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s great to have someone who works in the hospital as they understand the complexities and challenges of working in healthcare.<\/p>\n

Kirsch, Clinical Assistant<\/h3>\n

After moving to Australia, I tried a few different jobs and realised I wanted a change in career.<\/p>\n

I initially worked in aged care for four years before I applied for and got a temporary Clinical Assistant role in the Physiotherapy team here at the hospital in 2017.<\/p>\n

Since then, I have secured a permanent Clinical Assistant role within the Occupational Therapy Department. I enjoy working with geriatric patients as every day is different. I work with a fantastic Allied Health team and even when things are challenging, we band together and make it work.<\/p>\n

While Kersha and I don\u2019t really see each other during the day, I get a lot of phone calls meant for her and she recently received an award nomination meant for me, so it\u2019s like she\u2019s never far away.<\/p>\n

We both look forward to continue working together at Caboolture especially during this period of growth and development.<\/p>\n
