Congratulations Beth on your truly deserving annual Shining Star Award!<\/p><\/div>\n

I want to thank everyone for their support and efforts while I acted in the Executive Director role over the past few weeks.<\/h4>\n

This week, we continued the roll out of our Community and Oral Health Staff Excellence Awards at the Stafford Dental Clinic.<\/p>\n

For many at the clinic and across oral health, it was no surprise that we acknowledge the work of\u00a0Maricar (Beth) Go.<\/p>\n

Beth was a very popular winner of the 2023 Community and Oral Health Shining Star Award.<\/p>\n

“Beth is unassuming but tireless and reliable as the right hand to our Senior Clinical Assistant.\u00a0Her weakness is her lack of capacity to say \u2018No\u2019. Her ever-obliging, calm and industrious nature makes no task menial or overwhelming for her. <\/em>
\n\u00a0<\/em>
\n\u201cShe is well-versed in the practicalities and intricacies of running our sizeable clinic while coordinating staff socials and\u00a0bringing our multicultural workspace together.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBeth is our resident singing budgie. She sings and hums in the hope of bringing happiness and light-heartedness to both her colleagues and the anxious patient in her care. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cShe provides compassion and kindness to patients, and solace, comfort and a shoulder for staff in crisis.\u00a0Beth has worked quietly behind the scenes for years without the recognition she truly deserves.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMPORTANT NOTICE – ACHS Short Notice Assessment notification<\/h3>\n

And, to welcome Glynis back on Monday, we have\u00a0received notification that the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Assessors will be visiting Community and Oral Health from\u00a0Monday, 30 October.<\/b>

This is great opportunity to showcase all of the great work you have been doing since our last assessment.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your contribution, providing kind and safe healthcare every day to our patients and consumers.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\"MN<\/a>Occupational Violence Prevention Forum<\/h3>\n

The recent findings of our staff survey showed that many of our staff were concerned about occupational violence and it’s impacts.

I would encourage as many staff from across all disciplines and backgrounds to nominate and attend this important Occupational Violence Prevention Forum so that your voice can be heard and that we can make Metro North a safer place to work.<\/p>\n

A heartfelt gift from our residents – Occupational Therapy Week<\/h3>\n

To help Occupational Therapist\u2019s (OT) across COH celebrate OT week, Gannet House residents and team have put together some OT survival kits.

The kits aim to help all of our OTs get through their day and keep doing the wonderful work they do to support our clients recover and be safe at home.

This OT Week celebrated the World Federation of Occupational Therapists\u2019 theme:\u00a0Unity Through Community.

As a profession, our OTs play a vital and dynamic role in helping people engage with and participate in their community \u2013 in whichever way is meaningful to them.

Thank you to all of our OTs! the kits were\u00a0assembled by the residents of Gannet House during their regular recreation groups.<\/p>\n

Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) go-live update<\/h3>\n

The timeframe leading into go-live for Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) across Community Services within Community and Oral Health (COH) has been extended into 2024.

The scheduled program of ESM training\u00a0for COH staff\u00a0<\/b>will not\u00a0be affected by this\u00a0change in\u00a0go-live date. If you are currently booked in for an instructor-led classroom training session, your session will be continuing as planned, and\u00a0it is\u00a0essential<\/b>\u00a0that you attend.

As well as attending training, staff will have the opportunity to\u00a0keep learned knowledge fresh by completing\u00a0ESM practice activities<\/a>.

Further information regarding Community Services’\u00a0updated ESM go-live date\u00a0will be communicated once it is confirmed.\u00a0

Compliment – Another shout out for Cooinda House<\/h3>\n

It seems like a month can’t go by without a positive note or compliment about the team at Cooinda House.

At the Board Safety and Quality Committee meeting recently, the Committee noted the report on the unannounced assessment of Cooinda on 31 August.

They commented on the excellent outcome and said staff should be proud of their efforts. Well done team Cooinda House!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\"EngineeringA final shout out<\/h3>\n

Keeping more than 30 health facilities operational is what keeps Community and Oral Health Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services Manager Matt Smith on his toes.

But he’s not just keeping the wheels spinning and planning for the ‘unplannable’ – he’s been busy taking out two major staff excellence awards in the process.<\/p>\n
