Louise O’Riordan, Acting Executive Director<\/p><\/div>\n

In response to the current levels of COVID-19 in our community, Redcliffe and Metro North have moved to Tier One of our Acute Respiratory Plan<\/a>.<\/h4>\n

The change means that hospital staff are now encouraged to wear a surgical mask in the hospital’s clinical areas, and staff caring for patients with a suspected respiratory illness must wear a P2\/N95 mask and eye protection.\u00a0Patients and visitors continue to be encouraged to wear masks, too.<\/p>\n

As always, if you’re unwell please do not come to work.<\/p>\n

#IamRedcliffe<\/em> Team of the Month<\/h3>\n

We presented the\u00a0#IamRedcliffe<\/em>\u00a0Team of the Month for October at our Staff Forum on Thursday.<\/p>\n

We had ten nominees for October, with the award going to Theatre Bookings and the CSD team for the way they’ve worked together to support the best outcomes for patients.<\/p>\n

\"MetroNominations have now closed for the November #IamRedcliffe <\/em>Team of the Month, but it’s never too early to put in nominations<\/a> for the December award.<\/p>\n

While talking about awards, nominations for the Metro North Staff Excellence Awards closed this week. Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination in favour of their peers and colleagues here at Redcliffe.<\/p>\n

Tickets are now on sale<\/a> for the awards celebration on Friday, 15 December, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Our awards are proudly sponsored by QSuper, part of Australian Retirement Trust.<\/p>\n

Have Your Say Staff Survey feedback sessions<\/h3>\n

\"have<\/a>People and Culture and Learning and Development have now completed three of the four staff survey feedback sessions.<\/p>\n

They’ve heard some great ideas and suggestions at these sessions, which will all be used to help inform the Hospital’s People Plan as we work toward an upcoming refresh of our\u00a0#IamRedcliffe\u00a0Agreed Behaviours.<\/p>\n

A fourth and final feedback session will be held on Teams next Tuesday at 2pm. Everyone is encouraged to join that session, and the link should be in your Outlook calendar.<\/p>\n

If you cannot join that session, you can share solutions-focused ideas and suggestions by\u00a0clicking here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"RaiseWishlist Grants still open<\/h3>\n

Applications are open<\/a> for the 2023 round of Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital’s Wishlist Grants. Wishlist Grants offer funding of up to $10,000 to support projects that benefit patients and staff.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth time Wishlist Grants have been offered, and this year, there is a total funding pool of $20,000 for these grants. Applications close Friday, 1 December 2023 and if you have any questions, please get in touch with\u00a0Dr Joel Dulhunty<\/a> or Sharyn Tidswell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Understanding gifts and sponsorships<\/h3>\n

Lots of great work has been done this year to build partnerships with our community. Partnerships and collaborations are important, but as public sector employees, we’re also bound by rules around gifts<\/a>\u00a0and sponsorships<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Christmas nearly here, we should remind ourselves of those rules about which gifts can be accepted, what needs to be declared, and what should be declined.<\/p>\n

Planning is now well underway for hospital events and training sessions for next year. If your team is planning an event, education or training session that involves a company or organisation providing “free” catering, this may be a sponsorship that needs approval at the Metro North level. More information about how sponsorships work is available on QHEPS<\/a>\u00a0or by talking to Metro North Communications<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There’s no such thing as a free lunch.<\/p>\n

\"RedcliffeCar park and expansion update<\/h3>\n

From next Monday, there will be more changes to car parking on the hospital campus as preparations continue for the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion.<\/p>\n

Starting next Monday, the executive and fleet car park (P3) and the North Block car park (P4) will be permanently closed.<\/p>\n

QFleet vehicles will be temporarily relocated to the multi-storey car park (P0), and patients and visitors will be encouraged to use the multi-storey car park.<\/p>\n

National Recycling Week<\/h3>\n

\"ContainersNational Recycling Week (13-19 November) is a great time to talk about Redcliffe Hospital’s Containers for Change project. Containers for Change bins are in many tea and break rooms and staff courtyards near Zouki.<\/p>\n

So far, more than 1,200 containers have been recycled through these bins, with all of the proceeds donated to the Redcliffe Hospital Auxiliary.<\/p>\n

\"KallangurLastly this week, there is some more exciting news with the new Kallangur Satellite Hospital set to open soon.<\/p>\n

Like the Caboolture Satellite Hospital, the new Kallangur Satellite Hospital will include a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic that will offer another option for patients needing non-urgent medical care.<\/p>\n

To help celebrate Metro North’s new Kallangur Satellite Hospital, everyone is invited to a community open day this Sunday from 10am to 1pm, at 9 Stoker Way Kallangur. There will be food trucks, live entertainment, and facility tours for everyone to enjoy.<\/p>\n<\/div>
