As Metro North\u2019s only fully digital hospital, an outage of this type for STARS is challenging. I was so very proud of the exceptional teamwork that staff displayed to continue service delivery and ensure the excellent care and safety of patients. Particular thanks goes to those involved in extra tasks and \/or who stayed back\u00a0late on Wednesday to work on downtime and recovery processes.<\/h4>\n<p>While the day was a demanding one\u00a0it has provided invaluable experience, putting STARS in good stead for any future downtime procedures and the hospital\u2019s upcoming short notice accreditation. Judging will take place <strong>next Wednesday 29 November<\/strong>, followed by the Christmas market from 10am-2pm. So put your best rum ball or fruit mince tart recipes to the test! We know we have a lot of talented bakers at STARS and we would love to see\u00a0STARS staff\u00a0take out a prize. If you are interested in participating, please email Christie-Lee at the Foundation on <a href=\"mailto:c.edds@rbwhfoundation.com.au\">c.edds@rbwhfoundation.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Christmas day meal packs<\/h3>\n<p>To recognise those that work on Christmas day, the Executive Team will once again provide a complimentary meal pack to STARS staff. The meal packs will include cold ham and turkey (or a vegetarian option of pumpkin\/chickpea pattie), garden and pasta salad, dinner roll and butter and a candy cane, bonbon, Christmas napkin and cutlery. Teams can <a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/1vppy7\/10705\/SXL.mryTOlI3nxwQBw5HQaHiNVwOFKPq.jrB0cZc.html\">pre-order their meal pack<\/a>. Meal packs will be available to pick up on the day from the milk fridge in the basement.<\/p>\n<h3>Support for staff over the holiday season<\/h3>\n<p>For some staff, the holiday season can be a time of stress and anxiety or a reminder of the loss of loved ones. As the holiday season approaches, we encourage staff to utilise the support provided by our exceptional network of Peer Responders, who are trained in Psychological First Aid (PFA).
