Official opening of Clinical Services Building<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a busy start to the week for CKW! Yesterday the Deputy Premier Steven Miles, Minister for Health Shannon Fentiman, and Minister Mark Ryan, local member for Morayfield, officially opened the Clinical Services Building. Importantly, we commenced services in the new Perioperative Unit with endoscopy procedures and surgeries, and our first baby born in the CSB.<\/h4>\n

We\u2019ve recently heard many stories from staff about their time at Caboolture Hospital over the last 30 years. Julie Painter was one of the first people to scrub into theatres when they opened in the main hospital many years ago, and she was the first person to scrub into the new theatres in the CSB. I am continually inspired by our staff like Julie who have dedicated their careers to helping the Caboolture community.<\/p>\n

Today we opened the new Intensive Care Unit, so Level 2 of the CSB is now fully open. One patient was moved to the new ICU and one new patient was admitted to ICU. Many of you will know Rose Cooper, who was the former ICU NUM and was very involved in the design process. The ICU team had a ceremony to open the new ward, and Rose came in to cut the ribbon.<\/p>\n

The new ward also features some wonderful artwork from our own Tash Willmett, who made the pieces using recycled materials from the ward.<\/p>\n

Congratulations and thank you to all of the staff who were involved in transitioning the departments to their new locations in the CSB. They have been complex moves and involved a lot of moving parts, teams and technology, but we did it!<\/p>\n

We still have a big week ahead of us as we move patients into Level 4 tomorrow and Thursday.\u00a0 Please remember to look after yourselves and each other. Change can be exciting, but it can also be tiring and stressful. If you feel you need some extra support during this time, CKW Staff Psychologist and Peer Responder Coordinator Scott Natho is available to support staff during the move process. Scott is available any staff that want to have a chat on 0459 092 485.<\/p>\n
