I had a very interesting start to the week with a visit to the Clinical Skills Development Service (CSDS)<\/a>. CSDS hosted a morning tea to mark the official opening of Queensland Maternity Education (QME)<\/a> and the newly refurbished simulated birthing suite, along with the launch of QME’s latest workshop \u2013 Water Immersion for Labour and Birth<\/a>.<\/h4>\n

The refurbished Scenario Room C now stands as a versatile simulation space dedicated to Maternity Education. Recently outfitted with a state-of-the-art birthing pool, this space enriches the immersive learning experience from water immersion for labour and birth simulation to efficiently managing maternity emergencies.<\/p>\n

CSDS Nursing Director Belinda Faulkner and QME Program Director Megan Barker delivered presentations that showcased QME\u2019s commitment to improving maternity care across Queensland by offering accessible, evidence-based, and timely education for clinicians. The red ribbon was cut by our Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer Alanna Geary, adding a ceremonial touch to the opening
\nof the space.<\/p>\n

Pride in Metro North<\/h3>\n

\"Pride<\/a>I am really excited to be the Executive sponsor for Pride in Metro North, a new working group dedicated to making Metro North a great place to work for LGBTIQ+ people and promoting advocacy and inclusion across our organisation.<\/p>\n

Did you know that you have the option of adding the pride flag and your pronouns to your Metro North email signature block? Just go to the Metro North email signature generator<\/a>, add your pronouns (if you choose) and tick which of the flags you\u2019d like to include. Then follow the instructions on the page to copy and paste into your signature templates in Outlook.<\/p>\n

The Pride in Metro North working group is currently exploring how the working group can promote diversity, inclusion, and empowerment across the organisation. Look out for more information from Pride in Metro North in the coming months, including a planned Herston launch event on 27 March.<\/p>\n
