Glynis Schultz, Executive Director<\/p><\/div>\n

I always enjoy showcasing and emphasising the wonderful contributions of our staff and teams across our directorate.<\/h4>\n

With the health service moving into MN-wide Tier 3 capacity this week, it has been no surprise that our teams stepped up to to facilitate the extra flow of patients from our acute facilities and reduce pressure.

And, on Tuesday we saw a record number of patients, 17 in all being transferred safely into the wonderful care that is provided by our\u00a0COH services.

The song says it best \u201cSimply the best \u2026. Better than all of the rest!\u201d\u00a0Take a bow – you should be so very proud as I am proud of you.

It was a great team effort \u2013 coordinated by our Nurse Navigators – Generalist Systems (Kristie Wiesner and Fiona Napier) as well as leadership and support from our NUMs, CNCs, and Team Leaders within COH bedded services.

And a great effort by all of our COH service staff. Thank you!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join the COH Staff Council<\/h3>\n

An exciting opportunity for those staff who are passionate about person-centred care, training, education, research and innovation across all of our directorate, and who will advocate for the safety, health and well-being of staff.<\/p>\n

Expressions of interest are now being called for clinical staff working in COH to nominate for the COH Staff Council. Expressions of interest are open to medical, pharmacy, nursing, allied health, administration and operational staff.<\/p>\n

We are looking for several new members. The COH Staff Council is a voice for staff to provide strategic leadership and advocacy on behalf of staff to deliver excellent person-centred care.<\/p>\n

Aknowledging our Men’s Shed<\/h3>\n

\"AknowledgingThey are an important part of the family at Brighton Health Campus and it has been a while since we have acknowledged the efforts of the Sandgate and District Men’s Shed.

I thought I would share a photo from the afternoon tea that was hosted last week to acknowledge this wonderful group of caring people.

The afternoon tea was to thank the members of the Men\u2019s Shed for their generous contribution and continued support of wooden carved doves, crosses and hearts.

These wooden carvings are caringly and compassionately included in the memory boxes given to our Community and Palliative Care patients and their families.

What another amazing initiative that I can’t speak highly enough of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compliment – Zillmere Residential Transition Care Program<\/h3>\n

“A big thank you from our family for all the care and support given by staff at the Zillmere Residential Transition Care Program. Our dad has been discharged this morning to Cooinda.<\/p>\n

“Every other place before our dad was transferred to RTCP, there was always pressure to discharge him. RTCP were able to accommodate the pace at which our dad was able to move.<\/p>\n

“Thank you team for all the hard work that was put in to providing care. We are very happy with Cooinda particularly in terms of the care and staff to patient ratio.<\/p>\n

“We are so thankful that RTCP were able to get placement at Cooinda.”<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Community Services ESM Project update<\/h3>\n

On Wednesday, the Community Services Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM) Go-Live and HyperCare Support functions will transition to business-as-usual (BAU) processes and teams.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, for after-hours support needs,\u00a0log a job online<\/a>\u00a0with IT Support or call\u00a01800 198 175<\/b>.\u00a0If the matter is impacting clinical care or services, press\u00a0#1<\/b>\u00a0for clinical prioritisation of the IT support call.<\/p>\n

A final shout out<\/h3>\n

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Team at Community and Oral Health partnered with the Women\u2019s Business Shared Pathway team to host a Women’s Health Expo.\u00a0

The event focussed on creating an ideal environment for screening and education about Women\u2019s Business.
