Submissions for the RBWH Foundation\u2019s second grant round of 2024 are open.<\/p><\/div>\n

Submissions are open for the second of two RBWH Foundation grant rounds for 2024, signaling a doubling of project funding across Herston Health Precinct.<\/h4>\n

RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske said the increase in funding was made possible only through the generosity of the Foundation\u2019s community of donors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful to the philanthropic individuals, families and organisations who partner with us through their connection with causes that truly make a difference,\u201d said Ms Garske.<\/p>\n

Patient-focused initiatives and research project submissions which deliver exceptional outcomes or improve the patient experience and care are encouraged.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the quality of previous applications, the RBWH Foundation is expecting innovative and impactful projects across a range of medical specialties,\u201d said Ms Garske.<\/p>\n

Grant Round 2 began on 1 March and is open to all staff at:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Royal Brisbane and Women\u2019s Hospital (RBWH)<\/li>\n
  • Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS)<\/li>\n
  • Herston Biofabrication Institute (HBI)<\/li>\n
  • Herston Infectious Diseases Institute (HeIDI)<\/li>\n
  • Jamieson Trauma Institute (JTI)<\/li>\n
  • Comprehensive Breast Cancer Institute (CBCI).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    New applications that meet the eligibility criteria will be assessed by a panel with representation from RBWH, STARS, First Nations (Indigenous Health Liaison), and consumers.<\/p>\n

    Previous grants funded include:<\/p>\n

    • Improving outcomes for people requiring upper limb neurorehabilitation using a new technology approach<\/li>\n
    • Enhancing the Patient Experience and Assisting Complex Decision-Making in Haemodialysis through Digital Platforms<\/li>\n
    • Co-designing the future of adolescent and young adult kidney care<\/li>\n
    • From documents to digital: Co-designing nutrition videos to improve patient care<\/li>\n
    • Welcoming beds for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Summaries of these projects are available online.<\/u><\/p>\n

      Many RBWH Foundation-funded patient care initiatives and research projects have the potential to transform patient outcomes and\/or the patient experience at hospitals around Australia.<\/p>\n<\/div>
