<\/i><\/b>After the Easter long weekend, Redcliffe Hospital will welcome our new Executive Director, Cang Dang.\u00a0 Metro North Health’s Chief Operating Officer, Jane Hancock, announced the appointment earlier this month and I encourage everyone to\u00a0read more about our new Executive Director here<\/i><\/b><\/a>.<\/h4>\n

I want to thank everyone for their support and collaboration during my time as Acting Executive Director.
\nI’m especially proud of the work we’ve achieved with Amanda Brimson and the People & Culture team in updating our I am Redcliffe Agreed Behaviours. We’ll officially launch those at a Special Staff Forum next Wednesday afternoon. The appointment for that forum should be in everyone’s Outlook calendars, please join us if you can.<\/p>\n

Our successful hospital accreditation is another thing we’ve achieved together over the past year. I’m proud of everyone at Redcliffe Hospital for coming together to make it possible.<\/p>\n

\"YarningWe held a celebratory morning tea on last Monday to mark the arrival of our accreditation certificates – which now hang proudly in the foyer of the Education Centre, and in the hospital foyer.<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who joined us for that celebration, including Metro North Chief Executive Jackie Hanson and Acting Chief Operating Officer Glynis Schultz.<\/p>\n

Jackie and Glynis were also with us for our Yarning Circle in the Staff Courtyard for National Close the Gap Day, led by Cultural Capability Officer Elwyn Henaway.<\/p>\n

Elwyn yarned about the meaning, origins, and importance of closing the gap and how it related directly to our new Metro North commitment to Health Equity.<\/p>\n

\"GrandAcknowledging the long journey ahead, we also talked about some of the big steps we’ve already taken\u2014like the Deadly Feet clinics, the Deadly Red Emergency Pathway, and its next stage, Deadly Steps.<\/p>\n

Thank you again to Elwyn for his leadership of that session and everyone who made the time to join and participate.<\/p>\n

Well done to everyone who brought their A-game during Grand Rounds’ multi-agency interdisciplinary simulation last week. That simulation included our friends from QAS, staff from the Emergency Department, Paediatrics, Pharmacy, Social Work and the PICU.<\/p>\n

The scenario was designed to incorporate learning objectives for all the clinicians directly involved, with those in the audience taking the role of directed observers.<\/p>\n

\"StaffGrand Rounds is always an important part of our medical and clinical training, but this simulation session was really something special.<\/p>\n

Redcliffe Hosptial welcomed the Metro North Staff Forum this week, with a range of staff service providers available with displays in the Staff Courtyard.<\/p>\n

Alongside those banking, superannuation and salary packaging providers, we also had our Staff Wellness team and Peer Responders to talk about Peer Responder Week.<\/p>\n

Team of the Month for March<\/h4>\n

\"IWe presented our Team of the Month at our Staff Forum on Thursday. There were 12 nominees for the March award, including: Phlebotomy, Joyce Manigsaca, Alyssa Kemp, Vanessa Collins, Shannon Henderson, Chantal Fichera, Nurse Educators, Marc Kerry, the 4 East Multi-Disciplinary Team, Anthony Behan and Edwin Cheung, and Dr Jack Graham.<\/p>\n

Congratulations<\/span>\u00a0again to our winner, the\u00a0Pharmacy Leadership team – for their dedication to enhancing their team\u2019s work-life balance, listening to their team members, and working together to make the best decisions for their team.<\/p>\n

Nominations are now open<\/i><\/b><\/a>\u00a0for the April Team of the Month.<\/p>\n

\"MakeMaking it count more<\/b><\/p>\n

Local Area Needs Assessment 2024<\/b><\/p>\n

\"Local<\/a>Metro North Health and the Brisbane North PHN are jointly developing a Local Area Needs Assessment for the Brisbane North region. To support this, they’re asking for our help in a survey consultation.<\/p>\n

The LANA survey for hospital staff, community partners, and our patients will gather insights into the health and service needs of the Brisbane North community.<\/p>\n

You can help by\u00a0displaying the poster and QR code<\/i><\/b><\/a>\u00a0in your ward or clinical areas and by\u00a0taking the survey\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/a>\u00a0before Sunday, 14 April.<\/p>\n

Lastly this week,\u00a0congratulations<\/span>\u00a0to Dr Rabiya Farhat on her appointment as the Medical Director for the Medicine Service Line. Dr Farhat had been acting in the role following the retirement of Dr Catherine Yelland PSM. Please join me in congratulating Dr Farhat on her appointment.<\/p>\n<\/div>
