The King and I – Can you pick the difference?<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

For my first day acting in the Executive Director role I am very excited to share with you some of the great pictures from the grand opening of the Gannet House Cinema.<\/h4>\n

It was a\u00a0wonderful and very fun event to be part of, and the majority of residents got involved and dressed up as their favourite movie characters.<\/p>\n

We saw it all, characters from Game of Thrones to the King and I, and others ranging from the Sound of Music to Thor – so many movie stars made an appearance from Hollywood to Bollywood!<\/p>\n

I have no doubt that our residents and families will take full advantage of this new space, especially on Sunday’s during the\u00a0\u201cOldie but a Goodie\u2019 movie session.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The cinema, similar to the one built at Cooinda House in 2023, features comfortable reclining chairs and lounges, surround sound, cinematic curtains and sound proofing, mood\u00a0lighting, as well as a massive 86-inch LED television screen with cinema quality multimedia equipment.<\/p>\n

Thank you Elsje (pictured right), a popular Gannet House resident who officially cut the ribbon and opened the new entertainment area.<\/p>\n

A big thank you to the Building, Engineering and Maintenance team who seamlessly created the area and new kitchen for residents to use.<\/p>\n

Following the opening of the highly successful cinema at Cooinda House we couldn’t wait for this new amenity to be built at Gannet House.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to everyone involved!<\/p>\n

Reminder – Staff movements<\/h3>\n

From today, Glynis will be acting in the Chief Operating Officer role until Wednesday 22 May 2024 – then she will be taking some leave before returning Monday 27 May 2024.<\/p>\n

While I am acting in the Executive Director role, Michael Bishop will be acting in the Director of Nursing from Wednesday 24 April 2024 to Sunday 26 May 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Compliment – Aged Care Assessment Team<\/h3>\n

“Over the course of this year, I have had to deal with the Brisbane North ACAT team to have my mother’s ACAT reviewed. During this time, I have found the services provided by your office to be above my expectations.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Each time I have spoken they have listened with empathy and sought to assist where they can. I am aware of the great demand on their services, but they made appointments as soon as possible and accommodated the changes in my mother’s circumstances.<\/p>\n

“When the booked assessment couldn’t go ahead because of the illness of the assessor, I was impressed by the proactive approach taken by\u00a0 staff to arrange a new assessment.<\/p>\n

“I also found Tania Goodman excellent. To the extent that she rang at two minutes to five on a Friday afternoon, because she had said she’d provide the outcome of the review before the end of the week.<\/p>\n

“That is incredible service. Thank you.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

ieMR instructor-led training has commenced<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>The\u00a0in-scope Community Services within Community and Oral Health<\/a>\u00a0will be going live with the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) from Wednesday 26 June 2024.<\/p>\n

This means a major milestone in our ieMR readiness journey has commenced – instructor-led ieMR training<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bookings for in-person, instructor-led training sessions are managed through the Talent Management System (TMS). Your line manager will book you in for your instructor-led training session\/s.<\/p>\n

A timetable of ieMR instructor-led training sessions available for Community Services staff\u00a0can be viewed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Web-based prerequisite training is also available through TMS and must be completed prior to undertaking instructor-led training.<\/p>\n
