I would like to thank everyone at the Royal for your enthusiastic participation in the RBWH Foundation Giving Day last week. It is one of the highlights of our calendar every year, and 2024 was no exception, with plenty of colour and excitement across the Herston Health Precinct.<\/h4>\n

This year was the most successful Giving Day ever, with the $750,000 raised<\/b>\u00a0far exceeding the initial $600,000 target.<\/p>\n

Credit for that wonderful achievement must go to the generous\u00a0community of donors, fundraisers, volunteers, ambassadors, corporate partners and supporters who made it possible.<\/p>\n

The day included visits from the Dolphins, the Lions, the Reds and boxing champion Jeff Horn. A highlight was former brain injury patient turned physiotherapy assistant Reece Crawford running a gruelling 24-hour \u2018100 Miles of Gratitude\u2019 treadmill marathon to raise funds. Andy Bichel and Michael Kasprowicz of the Bulls Masters were in awe of Reece\u2019s effort.<\/p>\n

\"ReeceHe may have needed a little lie down at the end, but he kept a smile on his face the whole time. Amazing effort!<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone for ensuring we raise awareness (of our great work), spirits (for our patients and visitors) and funds (for important patient care initiatives and medical research).<\/p>\n

And well done to the RBWH Foundation for all your amazing work.<\/p>\n

The Foundation\u00a0distributes Giving Day donations through two grant rounds each year, with the latest round to be officially announced on Wednesday 3 July \u2013 good luck to all the exceptional applicants, we know you are all worthy.
