She supports the\u00a0speech pathology\u00a0discipline and site team within CBRT to deliver excellent client centred care.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\"Nothing is too much trouble for Pauline which has been evident in her stepping up to the Team Leader role (as well as her clinical role) at very short notice recently while\u00a0I went on secondment,\" she said.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\"She is always looking for innovative ways to improve the team culture as she correctly states:\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">'<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ome days I spend more time with my colleagues than I do my loved ones<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">!'\"\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pauline, in conjunction with the team leader,\u00a0developed\u00a0a welcome pack for all new staff to CBRT.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\"This gift pack they receive on their first day in the service with practical items such as a lanyard, USB, hand sanitiser, pen as well as fun inclusions of lollies and stress ball and a welcome letter,\"\u00a0Donna\u00a0said.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\"The feedback from new staff is that it provides such a warm and friendly introduction and instantly makes you feel part of the team!\"<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pauline is\u00a0always looking for ways to improve her skills and support those around her.\u00a0 Pauline actively leads change in the team through quality improvement and by \"having a go\" herself.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She has led the way for technology enhancing rehabilitation and telehealth rehabilitation prior to COVID and presented at\u00a0Allied Health\u00a0Grand Rounds this year on her implementation of this within the team.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pauline actively encourages a culture of partnership to enhance client care \u2013 particularly with community groups.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She remains an active member of both the Aphasia Support Group and Stroke Support Group and works monthly with these volunteer operated groups to ensure that new members\u00a0are able to\u00a0access the groups easily and to ensure their sustainability into the future.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Donna\u00a0said\u00a0Pauline\u00a0was a fantastic member of the CBRT and COH\u00a0speech pathology\u00a0team and we are proud to be able to work alongside her as our colleague.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pauline Burge is a great colleague and team member nominated for a Values in Action Award.    <\/p>\n<p>Community Based Rehabilitation Team (CBRT) Team Leader Donna Ryan said Pauline leads by example in all aspects of her work.
