RBWH is lucky to receive support from grateful patients and former patients who want to give back to the hospital for the care they received.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Kandida Robertson, mum of former RBWH NICU patient Evelyn, has worked with her employer Turosi Food Solutions Group to raise $5,000 for the RBWH NeoRESQ team as her way of saying thank you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Baby Evelyn was born at Caboolture Hospital in 2019 at just 23 weeks and five days old.\u00a0Not long after her birth, the\u00a0NeoRESQ\u00a0team arrived to transport her to RBWH so\u00a0she could receive the\u00a0lifesaving\u00a0care she needed.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kandida\u00a0says the\u00a0NeoRESQ\u00a0and NICU\u00a0teams\u00a0were amazing,\u00a0taking the time to explain everything amidst the chaos and showing true care and\u00a0empathy\u00a0for both mum and bub.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"The compassion they showed towards Evelyn was truly comforting. I had to go back to work a few weeks\u00a0after her birth, and with four other kids at home I couldn't be with her as much as I wanted. Knowing the nurses were with her, not just doing their jobs but caring and watching over her gave me a huge\u00a0sense of relief,\" she said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"I work for\u00a0Turosi\u00a0Food Solutions Group, an organisation where 'giving' is firmly embedded in our culture. Through\u00a0Turosi\u00a0Giving, we proudly support organisations that are\u00a0assisting\u00a0others in their time of need with a particular focus on children and their families. As employees we had the chance to choose what charities we would like to be included. I chose\u00a0NeoRESQ\u00a0and Life's little treasures to show my gratitude towards the amazing work they do.\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Evelyn\u00a0has been\u00a0doing great since she left RBWH. She came off oxygen a few months ago and has not stopped since. She is intelligent and inquisitive \u2013 you would never know she had such a difficult start to life.\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A huge thank you to\u00a0Kandida\u00a0for choosing to give back to RBWH, and to the amazing teams who assisted her along the way.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
