The walls of the Caboolture Hospital\u2019s maternity ward have recently been transformed through the generosity of local creative and photographer, Kaylah Josephine. <\/strong><\/p>\n

When she is not busy being a mum to three to \u2013 seven-year-old Dallyn, six-year-old Lylah and four-year-old Kalani – Kaylah is running her own photography business from home and specialises in both birth and new-born photography.<\/p>\n

Whilst attending a birth photography session at Caboolture Hospital, Kaylah came up with the idea to donate 12 of her fine art photography prints to brighten up the space for staff, visitors, and patients to enjoy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had two of my three babies here and have always felt a strong connection to the maternity suites and the midwives at Caboolture Hospital,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of the bubs that I get in my studio are born at Caboolture Hospital and I meet a lot of Caboolture mothers when I\u2019m there for birth photography.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter noticing the walls hadn\u2019t changed since I\u2019d had my first born seven years ago, I decided I wanted to try and showcase the very babies that had been born between them.<\/p>\n

After checking with the mums of the bubs, Kaylah chose 12 of her favourite new-born photos to donate that are now hanging in the maternity unit and birth suite.<\/p>\n

Kaylah hopes that the photos will bring joy to all who walk by them and remind expectant mothers that they are not alone on their journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had women messaging me to let me know that they\u2019ve walked down the halls and noticed their friends’ babies on the walls.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome have even said they saw their own friends with their babies in some of the prints and it helped them to feel empowered and connected.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strength of motherhood and knowing that you have that support can be incredibly powerful.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing the photos reminds women that there is support, that there are people who have been through this before them and that there will be women going through it after them as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I had my own babies, I wanted photos on my home wall that would be timeless and this is what inspired me to become a photographer,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will keep donating wall art to fill the halls of the Caboolture hospital when I can.\u201d<\/p>\n
