If you live in these areas but work in Brisbane City Council or Moreton Bay, you will still need to abide by the lockdown restrictions applicable to those areas when at home.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nPPE for healthcare workers<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nOur LGAs remain on \"moderate\" risk PPE escalation.\u00a0 This means that\u00a0anyone providing routine clinical care\u00a0in any setting\u00a0where physical distancing cannot be maintained (e.g. outpatient appointment, ward rounds, handover meetings, 1:1 cares) should be wearing a\u00a0surgical mask\u00a0and\u00a0protective eyewear.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nCare in higher risk settings require additional precautions as the circumstance dictates\u00a0\u2013 including P2\/N95 respirator, gown and gloves.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSecondary close contact isolation and quarantine<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nI would like to re-iterate my\u00a0explanation yesterday regarding being a secondary close contact\u00a0(when one of your\u00a0household\u00a0has been notified that they are a close contact)\u00a0and your requirement as a healthcare worker to isolate until your quarantined close contact household member has\u00a0returned two negative tests, 24 hours apart.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nIf your household member is unable to effectively quarantine from you, you are more than a secondary contact. That is, if you continue to live with, and interact with your close contact, you will need to quarantine with them for the entire time of their quarantine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI have taken this seriously (and entered 'Liz Rushbrook prepper mode') and\u00a0made a plan\u00a0for members of my household who may become close contacts to quarantine at a place separate to my family home.\u00a0\u00a0It is something that you might like to at least think about for you and your household.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThis is a rapidly changing situation and is in place due to the\u00a0high 'R naught' of the\u00a0delta variant.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nExposure Venues<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nQueensland continues to respond to four separate outbreaks. One is the\u00a0alpha\u00a0variant, and three are different\u00a0delta\u00a0variants. This means that there is a lot of contact tracing occurring and has\u00a0resulted in\u00a0a lot of individuals and households entering quarantine.\u00a0 Please, if you\u00a0know someone who has found themselves in quarantine, be kind, be supportive and be understanding.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nI urge you to continue regularly checking the\u00a0<\/span>contact tracing exposure sites<\/span><\/a>, maintaining physical distancing and practicing good hand hygiene.\u00a0 Get tested if you have symptoms of COVID-19 no matter how mild, and\u00a0isolate until you have a negative result.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWe have so many teams working hard to respond to these outbreaks, to vaccinate our population and to keep\u00a0all of\u00a0our services up and running.
