Hi Team Royal,<\/p>\n

Once again, we\u2019ve found ourselves having to be agile and flexible in response to the latest COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions. Our Fever Clinic, Vaccine Clinic and Concierge teams, along with all staff throughout RBWH, have continued to display incredible teamwork and professionalism to ensure our patients, staff and community are kept safe. As always, thank you for stepping up to the challenge and going above and beyond. It does not go unnoticed.<\/p>\n

The RBWH Foundation\u2019s Raise it for the Royal Giving Day has once again proven to be an incredible success, raising more than $615,000 to go towards our hospital. Teams and individuals from across RBWH demonstrated their Team Royal spirit, with fundraising initiatives being seen in every corner of RBWH on the day. A huge shout out to the Cancer Care team for their fantastic tug-a-war competition, and to Physiotherapy Assistant Reece Crawford who raised ($21,425) in his incremental half-marathon. It was great to see RBWH in the spotlight with national media coverage on Channel Seven\u2019s Sunrise program, as well as local news coverage on radio and television. You can read more about Giving Day in the wrap-up below.<\/p>\n

As you know, we have launched our Business Case for Change for the realignment of ward and governance structure at RBWH. The realignment will allow us to develop an RBWH that is future fit for purpose and to continue providing the world class healthcare that we are known for. I encourage you to take the opportunity to review the business case and supporting documents on the RBWH26 website<\/a> and submit your feedback via RBWH26@health.qld.gov.au<\/a> or via the drop box on level 1 or to me directly.<\/p>\n

In this issue of News at the Royal, we say thank you to the Queensland Milk Bank as they move on to a new journey, and hear about how the RBWH gardening team are doing things different to help save the environment.<\/p>\n

We also reflect on the importance of NAIDOC Week and look at how we celebrated the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at RBWH, and take a look at the success of the new Women\u2019s Business Maternity and Gynaecology Pathway at RBWH.\u00a0<\/span>
