Hi Team Royal,<\/p>\n

Queensland is edging closer to reopening our borders and we are all working hard to ensure we have the best possible plans in place to manage. Whilst the opportunity to reunite with family and friends interstate and overseas is exciting, it also brings with it a sense of uncertainty \u2013 especially for those of us working in healthcare. The uncertainty is really challenging however we do know that our teams across the hospital have been preparing and strategizing for an outbreak for more than 18 months. We have incredible staff across all services ready to respond. We have the equipment and the environment to respond. We need to look to our colleagues in Wattlebrae for inspiration as they have been outstanding to date in managing some really challenging patients. All done with care and compassion. Our best protection continues to be getting vaccinated. If you or any friends or family are yet to receive their vaccination, please feel free to walk into our RBWH Vaccination Hub on Ground Floor of RBWH.<\/p>\n

If you are in need of a good laugh then voting for RBWH Has Got Talent is open until 31 October, and the competition is tough this year! Check out the great entries and vote for your top three<\/a>. The winners will be announced at the Open Staff Council Meeting on Wednesday 1 December at 8am.<\/p>\n

This month has been a big month for celebrating awareness weeks and days. Read on to find out how RBWH celebrated International Healthcare Security Officer Appreciation Day, World Pharmacy Day, World Infection Prevention Week and Malnutrition Awareness Week.<\/p>\n

You can also find out about the NICU\u2019s great work in the sustainability space, the Thoracic team\u2019s hugely successful telehealth program and much more.<\/p>\n
