Our shining star Aimee Brooks was officially recognised for her dedication to the Metro North values as part of the annual Staff Excellence Awards held earlier this month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cMy jaw absolutely dropped to the floor when they announced my name as highly commended,\u201d Aimee said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were just really happy to be there representing Caboolture Hospital amongst the Metro North Health cohort.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were two tables full of colleagues who kept poking me and telling me I needed to get up and get on stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a group we have endured a difficult year, so it was super exciting to have a win and be able to celebrate with everyone together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aimee\u2019s role as Clinical Support Officer for the Intensive Care Unit and Anaesthetics involves supporting her department directors and medical staff with administrative needs. She is known for going above and beyond to help support her colleagues with the extraordinary work they do.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get to work with incredible people day in and day out who I support to make sure their day runs as smoothly as possible,\u201d Aimee said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a large couch beside my desk that gets used as the couch for any venting, debriefing, or sound boarding that is needed and is open to anyone who needs support or a pair of listening ears.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re always trying to think of ways to have some fun and host quarterly multicultural food days where everyone brings a plate and the chance to connect over something other than work.<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently, I participated in a push-up challenge to help raise awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder through Facebook and was able to get some of my colleagues involved as well, keeping us all fit whilst raising awareness of an important issue and having some fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well done Aimee and special mentions to Mental Health\u2019s Occupational Therapist Alana Brown who was a finalist in the Excellence in Integrated Care Award category and Mental Health\u2019s Clinical Nurse Judith Nugent who was a finalist for the People Focus Award.<\/p>\n<\/div>
