Hi Team Royal,<\/p>\n

I wanted to start with a huge thank you to each and every one of you for your unwavering commitment to RBWH throughout 2021. Despite the challenges we\u2019ve faced this year due to COVID-19, busy workloads and increasingly complex patient case mix, you continue to show up every day with a positive attitude and willingness to get in there and deliver world class healthcare. You should all be proud of your efforts.<\/p>\n

In our busy jobs, it can be easy to forget how much a simple thank you can mean to someone. In the spirit of Christmas, I want to encourage you all to express your gratitude to your colleagues for their hard work this year. This could be by sending an email to each of your team members thanking them for their unique and valued contribution to the team, a thank you to your line manager or director for their leadership, or a thank you to the food services staff member who makes your coffee every morning. Let\u2019s spread the festive joy and make sure everyone knows how important they are to Team Royal.<\/p>\n

In this issue of News at the Royal, we wrap up the year with a summary of our COVID-19 response, the many amazing patient-centred initiatives we\u2019ve implemented this year and ways we\u2019ve made RBWH a great place to work.<\/p>\n

You can also find out about the Staff Excellence Awards, RBWH\u2019s new virtual stroke unit, the RBWH Foundation\u2019s patient entertainment trolley and much more.<\/p>\n

Of course, no Christmas edition of News at the Royal would be complete without our Christmas Decorating Competition winners. You can check out the winners and photos below.<\/p>\n

With Christmas just over a week away, please try to take some time to celebrate and relax with your family and friends. For those who are working over Christmas, we value and respect the sacrifice you make to ensure that our community remains safe. Thank you all.<\/p>\n
