Expect the admissions to increase soon, but ICU numbers to be much less (than expected with delta).<\/li>\n<li>Our COVID planning &amp; response is working really well, we got this.<\/li>\n<li>Any staff who can be redeployed due to the reduction of planned care need to be flagged with the workforce coordinators of each discipline so that we can cover emergent leave.<\/li>\n<li>See the details below the signature block for all the important daily update details<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stay calm, slow COVID &amp;<em> keep planning.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Angie<\/p>\n<p><strong>Executive Director <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Caboolture, Kilcoy &amp; Woodford Clinical Directorate<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><ul>\n<li>Kilcoy Hospital testing clinic&nbsp;0900-1200h.<\/li>\n<li>Fit testing call 2422 for prioritised bookings. Staff who have not been fit tested, are safe to work as long as they have <u>fit checked<\/u> the mask. Please fit check every time a mask is applied. Cannot be accessed by students or other non-MN staff, until after all MN staff fit tested.<\/li>\n<li>Staff test positive Managers &gt; see the \u2018CKW Outbreak Management Guide\u2019 + \u2018COVID Return to work\u2019 guideline.<\/li>\n<li>Booster clinic Woodford Prison to provide boosters to prisoners &amp; QCS staff. Staff booster clinic in the library, M-F&nbsp;0800-1530h; book in via <a href=\"mailto:CKWVaccinations@health.qld.gov.au\">CKWVaccinations@health.qld.gov.au<\/a>\u00a0 or simply walk-in. Note: Wednesday only this week<\/li>\n<li>Patients Need to wear masks, unless really unable to. Please encourage &amp; request, but avoid being confrontational.<\/li>\n<li>Isolation\/close\/casual contacts Please discuss with your line manager for risk stratification &amp; advice. Children <em>can<\/em> be admitted to Virtual Ward.<\/li>\n<li>COVID positive admissions Well = admit Virtual Ward or Medi-Hotel, unwell = Caboolture Hospital, very unwell = discuss with ICU.<\/li>\n<li>Concierge Questionnaire screening form for patients only, ask questions for visitors (but no form needed), no temperature scanning, N95 mask &amp; eyewear for all Concierge staff while in roles. ALL staff to have N95 masks on before entering &amp; while in the Clinical Services building.<\/li>\n<li>Visitors Limit of 2 per patient at a time, no overcrowding, ALL visitors must wear masks ALL the time, no mask = no entry.<\/li>\n<li>Elective care OT = \u00a0cat 1 &amp; urgent Cat 2, Scopes = cat 4 &amp; urgent 5, SOPD = time urgent care only, AH-OPD = time urgent care only.<\/li>\n<li>Community QAS activity very high. COVID spreading in many NHs, contact RADAR for NH related clinical issues.<\/li>\n<li>Tearooms please try to eat outdoors, if you eat indoors &gt; please socially distance super well &amp; minimise mask off time.<\/li>\n<li>Infection Control<em> Staff contact tracing to stop <\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Incident Controller update\n<ul>\n<li><em>Omicron continues to be the predominant strain in our area<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>MN now has 106 ward patients, 6 in ICU and a total of 717 patients in MN care. Sadly MN had 1 death.\u00a0 CKW: 9 inpatients <\/em><\/li>\n<li>Escalate any roster shortfalls ASAP via line management &amp; to EOC.<\/li>\n<li>All non urgent planned care postponed until after Jan 31<sup>st<\/sup> (see attached Memo)<\/li>\n<li>If your activity is down, the expectation is that a similar proportion of staff are offered daily for redeployment. All redeployable staff = please notify EOC as early as possible, call 5014 or email <a href=\"mailto:EOC-CabKilcoy@health.qld.gov.au\">EOC-CabKilcoy@health.qld.gov.au<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Redeployment priority areas are currently testing clinic, booster clinics, Emergency Department &amp; acute admissions, and MN Virtual Ward.<\/li>\n<li>Friday saw an update of the directions for staff who are close contacts &amp; positive cases<em>, most staff back on day 8.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>We have plenty of PPE, but we need wise stewardship to be prepared for the next few weeks. Please only change masks when definitely required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Exec Dir, Dir Ops <em>Please let EOC know about all redeployable staff ASAP, even if for a couple of hours, your help is required.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are currently working with Caboolture Private to partner with them in an effort to create capacity in patient bedstock.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilities management MN staff testing clinic in the staff carpark. Chapel and adjacent outdoor gardens are a staff eating &amp; relaxing zone.<\/li>\n<li>HR Staff <em>Note the updated COVID leave remuneration flowchart. <\/em>Staff can work in different healthcare facilities, limiting movement if they can. Please be aware of the difference between special discretionary leave and pandemic leave and the delegations to approve.<\/li>\n<li>PPE If an 1870 mask or Halyard regular Mask fits you, please use this model. Trident brand is now being distributed as an option for small faces but is in low supply at the moment. N95 masks &amp; eyewear must be worn before entering a clinical service area. Gown\/gloves only if a high risk patient or aerosolising procedure. PPE pain = www \u2018PPE comfort hacks\u2019. Masks over nose &amp; mouth, eyewear over eyes. Please ensure mask wearing\/ donning and doffing is diligently adhered to.<\/li>\n<li>Patient testing <em>ED does not provide a COVID testing service. <\/em>Birthing women &amp; OT cases without symptoms + low risk ward admissions = RAT test. RAT testing all new Kilcoy ward admissions + all ED discharges to RACF\/Disability homes\/Prison\/Private Hospitals. High risk admissions = Genexpert (PCR). Discharged patients = PCR (24hrs) only if symptoms or &gt;4h with an active positive case. No symptoms or epi risk factors &amp; discharge likely = no test.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Staff testing <em>Some home RAT kits are being distributed from the staff carpark tent, in selective situations.<\/em> A Metro North staff COVID-19 Testing clinic is being operated out of the Caboolture Hospital Staff Car Park<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7:30 \u2013 15:30 \u00a0every day<\/li>\n<li>Must be a staff member with a Metro North staff ID badge or family member accompanied MNH staff member<\/li>\n<li>Also available to all Emergency services and Correctional personnel<\/li>\n<li>PCR and RAT testing is available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Testing requirements<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At the onset of symptoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Close contact<\/strong> &#8211; Day 6 clearance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Positive Staff<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asymptomatic- return to work day 8 (no test)<\/li>\n<li>Symptomatic on day 7 \u2013 await 72 hrs after asymptomatic &amp; return to work (no test required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Close contact that can isolate at a different residence for 48 hrs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RAT test after 48hrs of moving out of positive environment \u2013 if positive \u2013 follow positive pathway<\/li>\n<li>If negative \u2013 RAT test prior to each shift up until day 14 observe quarantine directions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Focus areas for today<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Establishment of second COVID ward<\/li>\n<li>Redeployment the amount of staff being offered is not reflecting the decreased activity of some areas, more help is required<\/li>\n<li>Assessing risk at Woodford and supporting patients<\/li>\n<li>Working with Caboolture Private Hospital to expand bed capacity<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Issues to raise, by exception, <em>+ roster holes in the next 48hrs<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ED\/Woodford\/Kilcoy WP ED critical nursing shortfalls, positive prisoners at Woodford, Kilcoy to soon handover Fever clinic to Ambulatory Care<\/li>\n<li>SICU monitoring elective care<\/li>\n<li>MOPS nursing shortfalls being managed and monitored,<\/li>\n<li>WCF SCN and maternity nursing shortage<\/li>\n<li>MH<\/li>\n<li>Infection Control<\/li>\n<li>Outpatients Downscaling to fewer clinics (that are full), lots of redeployment<\/li>\n<li>iMed<\/li>\n<li>Consumers\/Engagement<\/li>\n<li>AH\/Pharmacy Call 8153 for AH discharge help, focusing on MOC and Staff Wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>DON<\/li>\n<li>DMS<\/li>\n<li>AO<\/li>\n<li>PSS<\/li>\n<li>Finance<\/li>\n<li>Q&amp;S<\/li>\n<li>PFU<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Latest modelling continues to suggest a peak in late January\/ early February.
