A severe weather warning has been issued with the threat of intense rainfall over the next few days. Up to 300mm of rain has been forecast for the next three days. A lot of that rain is expected this afternoon.<\/h4>\n

The Metro North Health Emergency Management Team has issued a staff update. \u00a0However, I wanted to add further details specifically for Caboolture, Woodford and Kilcoy.<\/p>\n

There are several locations in our catchment that are prone to flooding during periods of heavy rainfall. Some locations are well-known, others less so.<\/p>\n

The Moreton Bay Regional Council website lists local roads closed due to flooding. It is available here: Weather impacted roads – Moreton Bay Regional Council<\/a> to help plan your route.<\/p>\n

Somerset Regional Council has a webcam of Kilcoy Creek bridge and other local river crossings:

Remember, road conditions can change at any time so please drive to the conditions and if it\u2019s flooded, forget it.<\/p>\n

I would strongly recommend that staff avoid using informal parking spaces in the Caboolture Hospital Temporary Staff Carpark, specifically the grassed areas.<\/p>\n

Similarly, staff that normally park in low-lying areas at the Bury Street end of our campus should consider parking in alternative locations.<\/p>\n

Consider your personal safety and those around you. Don\u2019t try to rush home to beat the storm. Stay in a safe location, such as work or at home, until the most severe weather has passed.<\/p>\n

We need staff to ensure our patients receive appropriate and timely care. However, if you think the severe weather may impact your ability to come to work over the next few days, please speak with your line manager as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
