Here\u2019s a wonderful milestone worth celebrating. This week is the 25th<\/sup> anniversary of the Chapel and chaplaincy services at Caboolture Hospital.<\/h4>\n

The project to build a chapel at Caboolture Hospital was started by former Caboolture Rotary Club President Martin Jonkers. His aim was to have a quiet place where patients, families and hospital staff could go to find comfort. Chaplains would be available to listen to them and assist them in any way they could.<\/p>\n

Now, 25 years later, the Chapel and our chaplains continue to have such as significant role for the hospital. The chapel is very welcoming and offers a place where people can have joy and celebrate new life or a place for prayer, contemplation and grieving.<\/p>\n

All of this is possible because of the vision of Mr Martin Jonkers and the Caboolture community 25 years ago.<\/p>\n

We had planned an event to celebrate this important milestone which unfortunately had to be postponed due to our Tier 4 response. We\u2019re searching for a new date later in year.<\/p>\n

Thank you to our chaplains \u2013 past and present – for a job well done over the past 25 years. I know our staff, patients and visitors find much comfort in the care you provide.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m really looking forward to joining you to celebrate this wonderful occasion with later in the year and unveiling plans to grow the chaplaincy services in coming years.<\/p>\n

Remember to get your flu shot!<\/h2>\n

The CKW Staff Influenza vaccination program starts on Tuesday (26 April). It\u2019s an important step to protect staff, patients and the community as we approach winter.<\/p>\n

Flu vaccinations will be available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the Caboolture Hospital Education Centre Library until Friday 6 May from 8am to 3.30pm (closed 10am to 11am and 1pm to 2pm).<\/p>\n

From Tuesday 10 May to Thursday 2 June, flu vaccinations will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays only in the Infection Control office in the main building (ground floor). This will also be 8am to 3.30pm (closed 10am to 11am and 1pm to 2pm).<\/p>\n

Flu vaccinations are available to Queensland Health staff only. \u00a0To ensure a smooth process, please bring your staff ID and Medicare details.<\/p>\n

Please note that the regular Tuesday afternoon staff vaccination clinic will not be held on Tuesday 26 April and Tuesday 3 May.\u00a0 This clinic will resume on Tuesday 10 May from 2pm \u2013 3.30pm.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 staff debrief survey<\/h2>\n

Metro North Health has started the next stage of the COVID-19 response debrief process. The staff debrief survey<\/a> is a short questionnaire that asks for your reflections, feedback, and ideas about what we have learnt from the pandemic.<\/p>\n

The survey only takes about four minutes and your input will play a critical part in the development of our Transition to Recovery Plan<\/em>. The survey will be open for the next two weeks.<\/p>\n

New date for CKW Staff Expo<\/h2>\n

Here\u2019s more good news. We\u2019ve found a new date for the CKW Staff Expo. Unfortunately, we had to postpone it due to our move to a Tier 4 response just before Easter. It will now be held at the Caboolture Hospital Lecture Theatre on Friday 6 May.<\/p>\n

Anzac Day<\/h2>\n

On Monday (25 April), we recognise Anzac Day. This national day of solidarity marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australia and New Zealand forces during the First World War. On this day, we pause to honour the many courageous men, women and animals who have or are serving our country. I\u2019m sure many of you, as I, have family members or loved ones who you remember on this day.<\/p>\n

At Caboolture and Kilcoy hospitals, we\u2019ll play a short message over the PA system for staff and patients. Lest We Forget.<\/p>\n

New CHRP artwork<\/h2>\n

Have you seen the new Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment artwork on the wall next to the Emergency Entrance? The timeline highlights key dates and activities on our journey towards building a bigger and better hospital for the Caboolture community. It\u2019s well worth a look.<\/p>\n

What a compliment!<\/h2>\n

Here\u2019s a great compliment received recently from a patient who was in Ward 3A:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looked after around the clock and made sure everything I need is there and tests that needed to be done is done accordingly.<\/p>\n

\u201cMade sure my temperature is going down to make me feel more comfortable as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally,<\/h2>\n

Did you grab a bite at the Schnitzel Von Yumm<\/em> food truck at Caboolture Hospital on Wednesday evening?<\/p>\n

We\u2019re hopeful to have a variety of food truck options available for evening shift staff over the next three weeks.<\/p>\n

At this stage, the next\u00a0will be London Spuds on Wednesday 27 April from 4.30pm, outside the Emergency Department entrance (adjacent to the ambulance bays).<\/p>\n
